Our client, a rapidly growing technology firm, is seeking an accomplished Lead Software Architect specializing in Cloud-Native Solutions to join their innovative team in Des Moines, Iowa, US . This senior technical leadership role is responsible for defining and driving the architecture of scalable, resilient, and high-performance cloud-based applications and platforms. You will work closely with engineering teams, product management, and stakeholders to translate business requirements into robust technical designs, ensuring adherence to best practices in cloud computing, microservices, and DevOps. Responsibilities: Design and architect scalable, secure, and fault-tolerant cloud-native applications and microservices using modern architectural patterns. Provide technical leadership and mentorship to software engineering teams throughout the development lifecycle. Define and enforce architectural standards, best practices, and development guidelines for cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP). Evaluate and select appropriate technologies, frameworks, and tools to support cloud-native development and deployment. Collaborate with product managers and business analysts to understand requirements and translate them into technical specifications and architectural blueprints. Oversee the implementation of CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, and automated testing strategies to enable efficient and reliable software delivery. Identify and address technical debt, performance bottlenecks, and security vulnerabilities within existing systems. Conduct architectural reviews, code reviews, and technology assessments to ensure alignment with strategic goals and quality standards. Stay current with emerging cloud technologies, architectural trends, and industry best practices, advocating for their adoption where appropriate. Troubleshoot complex technical issues and provide timely resolution. Contribute to strategic technology planning and roadmap development. Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the engineering organization. Qualifications: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field. 10+ years of experience in software development, with at least 5 years in a software architect or technical lead role. Proven experience designing and building complex, scalable cloud-native applications on platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP. Deep understanding of microservices architecture, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and serverless computing. Expertise in designing and implementing robust CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices. Strong knowledge of various programming languages (e.g., Java, Python, Go) and their application in cloud environments. Experience with relational and NoSQL databases, messaging queues, and caching mechanisms. Excellent understanding of security principles and best practices in cloud environments. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Exceptional communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills. Experience with API design and management. Cloud certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect Expert) are highly desirable.
