Our client is seeking an accomplished Senior Software Architect to lead the design and development of scalable, robust, and innovative cloud-based solutions. This is a fully remote position, offering the flexibility to work from anywhere in the US. You will be responsible for defining the technical vision, architecture, and standards for our cloud platforms, ensuring high performance, security, and maintainability. Your role will involve guiding development teams, making critical technology choices, and collaborating with stakeholders across the organization to translate business requirements into effective technical solutions. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in designing and implementing microservices architectures, leveraging various cloud services (AWS, Azure, GCP), and employing best practices in CI/CD, DevOps, and infrastructure as code. Key Responsibilities: Design and architect scalable, resilient, and secure cloud-native applications and services. Define architectural patterns, standards, and best practices for cloud development. Lead the technical design and implementation of microservices, APIs, and data pipelines. Evaluate and select appropriate cloud services and technologies (e.g., containers, serverless, databases). Collaborate with product managers and engineering teams to define technical roadmaps and requirements. Provide technical leadership and guidance to software development teams. Ensure adherence to security best practices and compliance requirements in cloud environments. Develop and maintain architectural documentation, diagrams, and design specifications. Champion DevOps principles, including CI/CD, automated testing, and infrastructure as code. Stay current with emerging cloud technologies and trends, and assess their applicability. Qualifications: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. Minimum of 10 years of experience in software development, with at least 5 years in a software architecture role. Extensive experience designing and implementing solutions on major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP). Deep understanding of microservices architecture, RESTful APIs, and distributed systems. Proficiency in multiple programming languages (e.g., Java, Python, Go, Node.js). Strong experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) and CI/CD tools. Knowledge of database technologies (SQL, NoSQL) and data modeling. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. Strong communication and leadership abilities, with experience mentoring engineering teams. Experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation) is a plus.
