The Department of Information technology Voice Services Bureau provides customers with several voice communication options to all state agencies, boards and commissions. Why does the job exist? This position will provide oversight and support of the state's enterprise voice communications network. How does it get done? Responsible for troubleshooting intermediate voice and hardware problems by responding to trouble calls; diagnose and develop solutions for repair assisting in the installation configuration, and testing of voice solutions. Working on Avaya Call Managers, Session Managers and Session Border Controllers. Responsible for configuring and supporting remote access for remote workers on physical handsets, softphones, Microsoft Teams Calling, Zoom voice and mobile applications. Responsible for maintaining the integrity of the VMware infrastructure. Responsible for the installation, administration and troubleshooting of the current Windows Server Datacenter and Linux virtual servers. Make recommendations for changes through the ongoing monitoring, alerting, and reporting of resource utilization levels and errors in the environment using a variety of tools and processes. Ideal Candidate Experience with VMware and storage Strong understanding of Avaya Linux based servers Strong understanding of Avaya Aura products Strong understanding of certificate management and security processes Strong IP Telephony experience Experience with VoIP Networking Infrastructure Experience with Zoom Voice Minimum Qualification Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems (MIS), Information Technology, Engineering, or similar technical degree and two (2) years of experience in network administration. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling six (6) years may substitute for the required education and experience.
