Annual Salary Range: $59,774 - $77,706 Position Summary Description: The Network Administrator II reports to the IT Manager and works with the Y. Hata staff to provide day-to-day network administration and troubleshooting support. Provides specifications for network architecture and evaluates and recommends new technologies. Diagnoses problems and takes necessary steps to remedy the problem or routes ticket to higher level of support. Works with the IT Manager on planning new projects and takes ownership in the implementation of new network infrastructure components. Provides mentorship to the Network Administrator I position and all Help Desk positions. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 1. Design and implement network solutions including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless systems. 2. Configure and support Layer 3 routing protocols and secure site-to-site connections. 3. Perform IOS upgrades, firmware patching, and lifecycle management of all network components. 4. Maintain and optimize VPNs, VLANs, and interoffice connectivity. 5. Monitor network health, analyze logs, and respond to system performance issues. 6. Enforce and improve cybersecurity controls including firewalls, ACLs, and encryption. 7. Support compliance efforts with internal and external security standards (e.g., STIGs, 8570). 8. Monitor threat vectors and assist with remediation planning and vulnerability management. 9. Lead and contribute to infrastructure upgrade projects and new technology rollouts. 10. Collaborate with internal departments and external vendors on deployment timelines. 11. Administer Microsoft Teams Phone and assist with systems integration as needed. 12. Serve as second-level escalation for Help Desk issues. 13. Mentor Network Administrator I and Help Desk staff. 14. Assist in maintaining SOPs, documentation, and knowledge base content. Qualifications: • Bachelor’s Degree in Network Management or related field. • Three to Five years of recent networking engineering or similar experience, or professional vendor specific certifications with Comptia, Cisco, Microsoft, and VMware may be considered in lieu of a degree. • Three to Five years experience in a related field with extensive technical experience. • Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively in written and oral form. • Must be able to communicate with internal and external associates in an effective, professional and persuasive manner. • Must be able to work effectively with co-workers and others by sharing ideas in a constructive, positive manner, listening to and objectively considering ideas and suggestions from others. • Must be able to address problems and issues constructively, to find mutually acceptable and practical solutions, while respecting the diversity of employees in actions, words, and deeds. Days/Hours of Work: This position requires the employee to reside on the island of Oahu and be available to work onsite in the office up to 5 days a week. Position hours are Monday through Friday during regular business hours. Starting times may be staggered to achieve full coverage. Also required to be available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, to ensure uninterrupted computer access and cellular network support. Occasional work outside of normal business hours may be necessary when unexpected technical problems arise. Position is based on Oahu; on-island residency is required to fulfill job responsibilities.
