Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Network Solutions Architect to join their growing Telecoms division. This role is based in **Des Moines, Iowa**, and offers a hybrid work model, combining in-office collaboration with remote flexibility. The Lead Network Solutions Architect will be instrumental in designing, implementing, and optimizing complex network infrastructures that support our client's cutting-edge telecommunications services. You will be responsible for translating business requirements into robust, scalable, and secure network solutions, working closely with engineering, operations, and product development teams. This position requires a deep understanding of current and emerging network technologies, including SDN, NFV, cloud networking, and various routing and switching protocols. The ideal candidate will have a strong track record of architecting enterprise-level networks, experience with network security best practices, and a proven ability to lead technical projects. You will mentor junior engineers, contribute to strategic technology roadmaps, and ensure the reliability and performance of our client's network backbone. A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, along with at least 8 years of progressive experience in network architecture and design, is required. Certifications such as CCIE or equivalent are highly desirable. The successful candidate will possess excellent problem-solving skills, strong communication abilities, and a passion for innovation in the telecommunications space. Responsibilities: Design and architect scalable, resilient, and secure network solutions for core and edge networks. Develop network strategy and roadmaps in alignment with business objectives and technological advancements. Lead the evaluation and selection of new network technologies and vendors. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define requirements and deliver integrated solutions. Provide technical leadership and mentorship to network engineering staff. Troubleshoot complex network issues and implement performance enhancements. Ensure adherence to network security policies and best practices. Develop and maintain comprehensive network documentation, including diagrams and configuration guidelines. Qualifications: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. 8+ years of experience in network architecture, design, and implementation. Deep expertise in routing protocols (BGP, OSPF), switching, and MPLS. Strong understanding of SDN, NFV, and cloud networking concepts (AWS, Azure, GCP). Experience with network security technologies (firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS). Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. CCIE or equivalent certification is a strong plus. Proven ability to lead technical projects and mentor teams.
