Position Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and strategic Senior Microsoft 365 Administrator with a strong focus on SharePoint Online and Exchange Online to lead the management, optimization, and governance of enterprise collaboration and communication platforms. This individual will play a key role in cleaning up a recent SharePoint migration, refining Exchange configurations, enforcing compliance standards, and aligning platforms with evolving business needs. Key Responsibilities SharePoint Online Administration • Audit and remediate a recently migrated SharePoint Online environment, addressing site architecture, permissions, and performance issues. • Collaborate with business units to gather requirements and deliver scalable SharePoint solutions that support document management and team collaboration. • Design and enforce governance frameworks for site provisioning, metadata taxonomy, retention, and lifecycle policies. • Configure and monitor external sharing settings to ensure compliance with organizational security and privacy policies. • Automate administrative tasks using PowerShell and PnP PowerShell to streamline management and reporting. • Lead site consolidation, migration, and restructuring initiatives across multiple business units and environments. • Maintain and optimize search functionality, metadata configuration, and term store management to enhance content discoverability. Exchange Online Administration • Manage and configure Exchange Online mail flow settings, connectors, transport rules, and anti-spam policies. • Administer shared mailboxes, resource mailboxes, and distribution lists in line with departmental needs. • Monitor and troubleshoot issues related to mail delivery, spam filtering, quarantine management, and user access. • Implement and manage retention policies, eDiscovery, litigation holds, and compliance configurations. • Provide support for hybrid Exchange environments, including on-prem integration where applicable. • Partner with security and compliance teams to enforce MFA, Conditional Access policies, and DLP rules. Governance, Security & Monitoring • Establish and maintain platform best practices, standards, and operational documentation for M365 environments. • Monitor system performance, usage trends, and health status using Microsoft 365 admin tools and third-party monitoring platforms. • Utilize Microsoft Purview, audit logs, and Compliance Center to report on user activity, policy enforcement, and governance metrics. • Develop training resources and deliver support to IT staff, site owners, and mailbox administrators. • Stay current with Microsoft 365 roadmap updates, features, and security advisories to recommend improvements and drive innovation. Required Qualifications • 5+ years of hands-on experience administering SharePoint Online and Exchange Online in a medium-to-large enterprise environment. • Demonstrated experience remediating complex SharePoint migrations and configuring Exchange mail systems. • Strong PowerShell scripting skills, including automation of administrative tasks and reporting. • In-depth knowledge of SharePoint governance, permissions, metadata, and lifecycle management. • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills. • Proven ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions. Preferred Qualifications • Microsoft certifications such as MS-102 (Microsoft 365 Administrator), MS-203 (Exchange), or MS-700 (Teams). • Experience with Power Platform (Power Automate, Power Apps) and Microsoft Teams integrations. • Familiarity with Azure Active Directory, Conditional Access, Microsoft Entra ID, and hybrid M365 deployments. • Knowledge of Microsoft Purview, compliance center policies, and user activity reporting. #PEG1 Job Types: Full-time, Part-time Pay: $50.00 - $60.00 per hour Expected hours: 40 per week Benefits: • Dental insurance • Health insurance • Retirement plan • Vision insurance Schedule: • 8 hour shift • Day shift • Monday to Friday Work Location: Hybrid remote in Denver, CO 80202
