Position: Azure Engineer Cloud Architect Location: Chicago, IL (Locals only) Job Type: Contract Job Description: The Information Technology Division manages, implements, and supports the overall technology requirements within the client's organization. The Cloud Architect will be responsible for creating a technology framework and providing technical leadership in cloud computing and automation, with a focus on designing systems and services on cloud platforms. Core Responsibilities: 12+ years of experience spanning at least two IT disciplines, including cloud architecture, network management, application development, middleware, database management, or operations. Knowledge of cloud architecture and implementation features (OS, multi-tenancy, virtualization, orchestration, elastic scalability). Experience with DevOps toolchains and processes. Develop deployable cloud design patterns based on AJG application portfolio. Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and guidance for mid and junior-level staff. Design solutions for high availability, disaster recovery, and automation of cloud applications. Troubleshoot complex problems, conduct performance analysis, and evaluate architectural alternatives. Key Skills & Experience: Azure Shell scripting/PowerShell scripting Exposure to multiple technologies and processing environments Strong understanding of network and Windows/Linux server architecture Experience with containers (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes) Familiarity with scripting languages (PowerShell, Python, Bash) Knowledge of high availability, networked storage, and disaster recovery concepts Experience with SSO software (AADConnect, ADFS, Okta, etc.) Web application security expertise (SSL, Kerberos, certificates, firewalls, etc.) Hands-on experience designing and deploying solutions in Azure, AWS, Google Cloud, or other cloud providers Excellent communication and client-facing consultative skills Bachelor's degree in computer science, Systems Analysis, or equivalent experience
