Role: SQL Database Architect - Azure Migration Work Location: Dallas, TX Language Preference: Proficiency in either Spanish or Portuguese and English 13+ years of IT experience, including more than 5 years specializing in Azure Database Migration, I have effectively led, managed, and governed technical teams and available to provide 24x7 support and am flexible with shift work. Primary Skills: • Migrating SQL Server from On-Premises to Azure Cloud using DMA, DMS, Azure Data Studio, Log shipping, Backup & restore, and various migration methods • Understanding customer DB SQL server landscape • Configuring SQL Server HA/DR (FCI, AG) in Azure across multiple subnets and regions, including Availability set • Configuring and administering Security/Policies/Resource Governing/Azure Key Vault • Collaborating with internal stakeholders, customer stakeholders, and project managers to understand migration requirements and provide optimal solutions • Driving cloud solution activities for large-scale complex migrations • Planning Storage and Capacity Management, creating logical models, and building physical models • Installing and configuring all versions of SQL Server (200x to 2022) • Experienced in troubleshooting and resolving issues with Windows and SQL servers Secondary Skills: • Designing, implementing, and operating database systems for performance and reliability in Azure • Upgrading SQL Server from legacy versions to latest versions in Azure, both On-Prem/Cloud • Proficient in T-SQL scripting and PowerShell scripting • Strong understanding of database performance using various tools • Ensuring compliance with client expectations Certifications (Preferred): • Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Associate • DP-300: Administering Microsoft Azure SQL Solutions • AZ-305: Designing Microsoft Azure Infrastructure Solutions Educational Qualification: • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Business, Liberal Arts, or related field.
