Description =========== We are looking for a Senior Systems Administrator / Cloud Engineer to join our Core Technologies team at Moser Consulting. As a client-facing technical expert, you will play a critical role in delivering reliable, secure, and scalable IT infrastructure solutions across a broad portfolio of client environments. This position blends advanced on-premises systems administration with cloud engineering responsibilities. You will support and modernize infrastructure for multiple clients in varied industries, primarily leveraging Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services (AWS), and VMware. You will handle everything from day-to-day operations to major cloud migrations, virtual environment tuning, infrastructure-as-code automation, and incident response. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys variety, autonomy, and problem-solving, and is comfortable supporting complex hybrid infrastructures in a fast-paced, service-oriented environment. You will frequently collaborate with internal support teams, project managers, and client stakeholders to deliver timely, secure, and value-driven IT solutions. Requirements ============ • Proficiency in system administration across Windows Server and Linux (Red Hat, Oracle Linux, CentOS). • Extensive experience managing VMware virtualized environments. • Strong expertise in Azure and AWS cloud platforms (including IaaS and PaaS). • Proven experience automating deployments using tools such as PowerShell, Ansible, Terraform, or similar. • Monitoring and performance tuning using tools like Dynatrace, Azure Monitor, or AWS CloudWatch. • Configuration and management of SIEM tools for security and compliance (e.g., Sentinel, Splunk). • Backup, disaster recovery, and high-availability planning. • Incident troubleshooting and root cause analysis. • Documentation of infrastructure, procedures, and configurations. • Experience participating in or leading IT projects and upgrades. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. • Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams. • On-Call Responsibilities Preferred Skills ================ • Experience with Kubernetes and container-based deployments (Docker, AKS, EKS). • Experience with hybrid environments and cloud migration strategies. • Familiarity with ITIL practices. • Pre-sales support and client-facing consulting experience. • Experience in mentoring or training junior IT staff. • Visionary mindset for innovation and infrastructure improvement Where You'll Work ================= Moser has two offices in Indianapolis, IN, and one in Baltimore, MD. This position will require a hybrid/onsite work schedule out of our downtown or Castleton office. Salary ====== At Moser Consulting, we believe in pay transparency and fairness.
