STAFF ENGINEER II (Contractor) – NETWORK & FIREWALL ENGINEERING IT INFRASTRUCTURE & OPERATIONS Dallas TX POSITION SUMMARY The Staff Engineer II – Network & Firewall Engineering is a senior-level technical role responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining secure, scalable, and resilient network infrastructure across on-premises and cloud environments. This role emphasizes deep expertise in firewall technologies, network segmentation, and Azure networking services to support enterprise-grade systems and regulatory compliance. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES • Engineer and maintain enterprise network infrastructure, including Networks, Firewalls, VPN, and Azure Network Security services. • Lead the engineering and implementation of firewall policies, rule sets, and segmentation strategies across data centers and cloud platforms. • Manage Azure networking components such as Virtual Networks, Network Security Groups, Azure Firewall, Application Gateway, and ExpressRoute. • Collaborate with security and compliance teams to ensure network configurations align with regulatory and internal standards. • Troubleshoot complex network issues and perform root cause analysis to ensure high availability and performance. • Participate in on-call rotation and incident response activities as needed. QUALIFICATIONS • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience). • 7+ years of experience in network engineering, with at least 3 years focused on firewall technologies and cloud networking. • Strong hands-on experience with Palo Alto or Cisco ASA firewalls. • Proficiency in Azure networking services and infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g., ARM templates, Bicep, Terraform). • Familiarity with Zero Trust architecture and micro segmentation strategies. • Excellent analytical, communication, and documentation skills. • Relevant certifications preferred (e.g., Azure Network Engineer Associate, PCNSE, CCNP Security).
