Position Title: Windows System AdministratorTitle of Immediate Supervisor: MIS ManagerSalary Range: $55,616 - $82,170 SUMMARY OF POSITION: The South Central Los Angeles Regional Center (SCLARC) is seeking a skilled and proactiveWindows System Administratorto join our IT team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Windows-based environments, excellent problem-solving skills, and a passion for maintaining secure, efficient, and reliable systems. This role is critical in supporting our infrastructure, ensuring uptime, and implementing best practices across our IT operations. This position works closely with the MIS Manager and Network Engineer to plan and deploy new systems for the agency and troubleshoot and remediate software, hardware, and network problems. This position also serves as an escalation point for the HelpDesk team. The ideal candidate will be organized and able to work with minimal supervision. This position also develops documentation for the HelpDesk team and reference materials for the agency; good communication skills and the ability to explain technical information to non-technical stakeholders are a must. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • Administer, maintain, and support Windows Server environments (2016/2019/2022). • Manage Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and file/print services. • Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure high availability. • Perform regular system updates, patches, and backups. • Implement and maintain security policies and procedures. • Support virtualization platforms (e.g., VMware, vSphere). • Collaborate with other IT staff to support enterprise applications and services. • Maintain documentation for systems, processes, and procedures. • Participate in disaster recovery planning and testing. • Provide Tier 2/3 support for escalated technical issues. • Perform other related duties as assigned. REQUIRED SKILLS: • Windows Server OS(2016/2019/2022) • PowerShell scriptingand automation • DNS, DHCP, SMB, NFS, and NTFS permissions • Virtualization platforms(VMware vSphere) • Patch management tools(e.g., WSUS, SCCM) • Monitoring tools(e.g., SolarWinds, PRTG, Nagios) • Backup and recovery solutions(e.g., Veeam) • Endpoint protectionandantivirus solutions • ITIL-based service managementand ticketing systems (e.g., ServiceDesk Place) DESIRED SKILLS: • Microsoft certifications (e.g.,MCSA,MCSE,AZ-104,). • Experience withAzure Active Directory,Microsoft Intune, andMicrosoft 365 administration. • Familiarity withcloud infrastructureand services (e.g.,Azure,AWS,Google Cloud Platform). • Experience withhybrid cloud environmentsandcloud migration projects. • Proficiency withconfiguration managementandinfrastructure as codetools (e.g.,Ansible,Puppet,Terraform). • Experience withCI/CD pipelinesandDevOps practices. • Familiarity withZero Trust security modelsandidentity management solutions. • Understanding ofcompliance frameworks(e.g.,HIPAA,SOX,ISO 27001,NIST). • Exposure toenterprise storage solutions(e.g.,NetApp,Dell EMC,HPE). • Experience withmobile device management (MDM)andendpoint managementplatforms. • Ability to lead or participate inIT projects, including planning, execution, and post-implementation review.
