Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Cloud Solutions Architect to join their dynamic IT team in Virginia Beach, Virginia, US . This role offers a hybrid work model, blending remote flexibility with in-office collaboration. The ideal candidate will be instrumental in designing, building, and deploying scalable, high-performance cloud solutions. You will work closely with engineering, product, and operations teams to define cloud strategy, implement best practices, and ensure the security and reliability of our cloud infrastructure. Responsibilities include leading the architecture design for new cloud-native applications, migrating existing on-premises systems to the cloud, optimizing cloud spending, and establishing robust monitoring and alerting systems. You will also be responsible for mentoring junior architects and engineers, staying abreast of emerging cloud technologies, and evangelizing cloud adoption across the organization. The role requires a deep understanding of IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS models, along with expertise in at least one major cloud provider (AWS, Azure, GCP). Experience with containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes is essential, as is a strong background in infrastructure as code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation. Security best practices and compliance frameworks within cloud environments are critical. You will be expected to translate complex business requirements into technical solutions, conduct architectural reviews, and provide technical leadership throughout the project lifecycle. Qualifications: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. 10+ years of experience in IT, with at least 5 years focused on cloud architecture and design. Proven experience architecting and implementing solutions on AWS, Azure, or GCP. Expertise in microservices architecture, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps principles. Strong understanding of networking concepts, security principles, and database technologies. Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Experience with data analytics and machine learning platforms in the cloud is a plus. Relevant cloud certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect Professional, Azure Solutions Architect Expert) are highly desirable.
