Senior Infrastructure Support Engineer/System Administrator job at Akkodis. Sacramento, CA. Akkodis is partnering with a renowned academic institution in search of a Senior Infrastructure Support Engineer. The Terms: • Mostly remote in Yolo County • Pay rate: $50-70/hr on W2 • 12 month contract (possibility to extend) Role Summary: • Serve as a System & Database Administrator for the Degree Audit Implementation project, supporting the campus-wide Student Information System Upgrade initiative. • Manage and stabilize infrastructure for mission-critical undergraduate education applications, including servers, integrations, networking, and database systems. • Provide technical support for advising applications, ensuring smooth operation and user support for web and cloud-hosted degree auditing software. • Ensure compliance with cyber-safety standards and data protection regulations, particularly in handling student data. • Collaborate with various teams, including software developers and system engineers, to integrate application data and maintain system functionality. Required Skills: • Extensive experience with Windows and Linux server administration , including virtualization and Active Directory. • Proficiency in database management , including SQL query writing, database modeling, and ETL processes using tools like SSIS and Azure Data Factory. • Familiarity with network systems , application integrations, and maintaining data security best practices in a large, complex environment. • Experience with DevOps pipelines, ASP.NET web applications , and deploying applications using IIS within an Azure ecosystem. • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills , along with excellent interpersonal communication abilities to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
