What You'll DoSupport application owners with the migration of their on-prem SQL Server databases to new domain on new or existing shared infrastructure Use questionnaires and/or conduct interviews with app owners to determine requirements and opportunities for rehosting including decommission, rehost on-prem (new or existing shared infrastructure), cloud migration using Azure (first choice) or AWS IaaS (Infrastructure as a Service), SQLMI (SQL Managed Instance), or RDS (Remote Desktop Services) Identify and convert all service accounts (SQL Server or Domain) and RBAC (Role Based Access Control) AD (Active Directory) groups to new domain while incorporating latest RBAC best practices and naming conventions Configure database replication, linked servers, and Availability Groups (AG) as required Plan and build new SQL Server infrastructure as required including: Infrastructure resource planning (CPU, Memory, Storage) and documentation in conjunction with migration plan Expand server resources to accommodate adding databases to existing shared SQL Server instances or Azure SQLMIPlan, install, and configure new SQL Server named instances on new or existing virtual servers to include Windows Server Failover Clustering and SQL Clustered Instances following established processes and best practices Planning, installing, and configuring new Azure SQLMI following established processes IAC (Infrastructure As Code) and best practices Decommission of legacy databases, RBAC, and infrastructure while maintaining documentation following established processes and procedures Support all aspects of SQL Server database infrastructure in conjunction with application migration plans to include application and/or database upgrades or significant changes related to AOAG (Always On Availability Group), or cloud migration Attend and participate in regular status and planning meetings What You'll Bring Minimum 5-7 years' experience as a SQL Server DBAMinimum 5 years' experience with SQL migration Experience with migration to on-premises environment Deep knowledge of nuances of resource configurations Deep experience with SQL server installations and migrations Excellent organizational and time-management skills Excellent communication skills About UsSlalom is a fiercely human business and technology consulting company that leads with outcomes to bring more value, in all ways, always.
