Location: Dallas, TX (Hybrid or Remote) Type: Direct Hire About the Role We are seeking a Senior Systems Engineer with proven experience designing, architecting, and deploying Microsoft 365 tenants from the ground up. This is not a day-to-day admin role, we’re looking for an engineer/architect who has built, configured, and optimized full Microsoft 365 environments end-to-end. You’ll play a pivotal role in architecting and implementing a new Microsoft 365 tenant, driving the migration strategy from legacy systems, and ensuring seamless adoption across the enterprise. Key Responsibilities • Architect, design, and implement a new Microsoft 365 tenant and supporting infrastructure. • Lead the migration strategy from legacy email, collaboration, and endpoint systems. • Deploy and configure Microsoft 365 core services, including: • Exchange Online (SMTP/mail flow, hybrid, security) • Intune (endpoint management, compliance, Autopilot, device enrollment) • Purview (compliance, DLP, retention policies, information governance) • SharePoint Online, OneDrive, Teams integration, and security hardening. • Develop and implement automations and integrations to streamline IT operations. • Collaborate with security and compliance teams to design enterprise-grade solutions. • Drive initiatives around backup, disaster recovery, documentation, and IT staff training. • Partner with executive leadership on strategic IT initiatives and roadmap planning. Required Qualifications • 7+ years of experience in systems engineering/architecture with a strong Microsoft focus. • Proven hands-on experience building Microsoft 365 tenants from scratch (not just administration). • Deep expertise in Intune (MDM/MAM, Autopilot, device compliance). • Strong experience with Purview (compliance, DLP, retention). • Expertise in Exchange Online (SMTP/mail flow, hybrid deployments, anti-spam/security policies). • Experience with identity and access management (Azure AD/Entra ID, conditional access, MFA). • Knowledge of automation and scripting (PowerShell, Graph API, or similar). • Strong understanding of enterprise security, compliance, and governance frameworks. Preferred Qualifications • Experience with Microsoft 365 migrations in mid-to-large enterprises. • Microsoft certifications (e.g., MS-100, MS-101, SC-300, SC-400, AZ-305) a plus. • Familiarity with backup/recovery solutions for Microsoft 365. • Strong communication skills with the ability to work across technical and leadership teams.
