Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Tier III Network Engineer to support a contract with the Department of Energy and National Nuclear Security Agency OCIO. The Tier III Network Engineer is a fully on-site position at their headquarters in Washington, DC. *This role requires an Active Top-Secret (TS) Clearance for consideration.* Responsibilities of Network Engineer • Tier III: • Configure and optimize routers, switches, VPNs, load balancers, and security devices • Monitor network performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement efficiency improvements • Support and secure communications using TACLANEs • Deploy and maintain Palo Alto firewalls Qualifications of the Network Engineer • Tier III: • Expertise in configuring and managing Cisco routers and switches using IOS/NX-OS, Palo Alto NextGen Firewall, and VPN solutions • Experience in General Dynamics TACLANEs and GEM One • In-depth knowledge of F5 Load Balancers, including GTM and Big DNS • Extensive technical experience with Windows, Unix, and Linux operating systems • Solid understanding of Layer 2 and Layer 3 networking concepts, encryption mechanisms, and various communication protocols such as TLS/SSL, IPsec, SSH, BGP, VLAN, LLDP, LACP, ARP, 802.1x, DNS, AES, and NTP. • Must hold Active Top Secret Clearance Compensation of the Network Engineer • Tier III: • Salary between 150,000 - $175,000 *commensurate of experience* • Comprehensive Benefits: Full Medical, Dental & Vision Insurance, 401k, PTO (Paid Time Off), Paid Holidays, Sick leave as required by law This job opens for applications on 07/18/2025.
