This position requires US Citizenship and the ability to obtain a DoD clearance. Candidates who are not eligible for a DoD clearance are not eligible for hire. Solidus is searching for a Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD). This position is remote. The Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) Engineer will help manage and design AVD solutions supporting 60+ developer groups employing cutting-edge technology stacks. The AVD Engineer will be tasked with implementing, managing, and optimizing AVDs and Virtual Machines (VM), while driving speed & capability enhancements for our warfighters. Day in the Life: • Architecting & managing secure, high availability systems, adhering to industry standards and following best practices • Implementing, managing, & optimizing AVD solutions in CI/CD pipelines • Designing & implementing approaches to continuously update & secure AVD resources • Developing scripts to automate tasks and deployments in a cloud environment • Documenting systems and processes for capability growth and improved team collaboration • Learning and adapting to new Azure cloud resources, with opportunities for formal training Required Qualifications: • US Citizen with the ability to obtain a DoD Secret-level Security Clearance • Undergo comprehensive background investigation • 4+ years of experience in Azure and AVD technologies or similar Virtual Desktop solutions • Experience with Windows Installer technologies and implementation of shared VM resources • Experience architecting & designing Azure-based solutions • Understanding of high-availability environments such as clustering, failover, and geographic redundancy • Understanding of network design & topologies including edge services & point-to-point VPNs within cloud environs Preferred Qualifications: • Microsoft Azure, AWS, RHEL, and/or Windows Server certification(s) • Proficient with a scripting programming language like Bash, Python, or PowerShell • Proficient with Configuration Management techniques using Ansible • Experience with managed Anti-virus tools like McAfee and Trellix ePolicy Orchestrator • Familiarization with Secure Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) implementation • Atlassian Tools Suite experience (Jira, Confluence, Bamboo and Bitbucket) What we will bring: Solidus offers you an exciting opportunity to tackle the nation's greatest challenges applying innovation and expertise to produce cutting-edge results that have a long-lasting impact. The salary for this position is estimated to be between $120,000-$185,000 Customer contractual specifications, relevant work experience, skills, competencies and certifications, clearance status, and benefit selections will influence the final salary.
