Position Overview Burlington is looking to add a hands-on Data Scientist to our Consumer Insights team. We are looking for someone who is passionate about uncovering consumer behavior patterns and market trends through data. The ideal candidate will be equally skilled in building advanced statistical/machine learning models and developing impactful dashboards to support strategic decision-making. This role focuses on analyzing customer data, market dynamics, and competitive intelligence to generate actionable insights that drive business growth and customer engagement. The candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business needs and deliver data-driven recommendations and support ongoing market research initiatives A Day In The Life • Develop and optimize interactive dashboards and visualizations that clearly communicate insights such as customer segmentation/behavior, key customer KPI’s, market trends and research findings to key stakeholders across the organization. • Leverage advanced analytics to Integrate and transform complex customer data sets from multiple sources including CRM systems, third party market data and digital analytic platforms. • Analyze market research data using advanced analytic techniques to identify emerging trends and opportunities. Data will include consumer perceptions, preferences and feedback with extensive cross-tabulation. Ensure insights are actionable to inform enterprise decision-making. • Design and implement predictive models to forecast customer lifetime value, churn, media mix optimization, etc. You'll Come With • Bachelor's degree (Statistics, Market Research, Computer Science, or other quantitative discipline with strong business background) MBA or MS preferred. • 5+ years relevant experience, customer insights, market research and analytics experience preferred • Ability to initiate technical problem-solving process and recommend solutions • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills • Proficiency with SQL, Python and/or R • Experience building dashboards with Tableau or PowerBI preferred • Detail oriented, comfortable digging into code and working with imperfect data sets • Statistical techniques such as regression, hypothesis testing, multivariate analysis • Advanced user of Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access) or related software. • Experience with statistical software & Power BI/Tableau is a plus. • Excellent communication skills, ability to tailor insights to non-technical audiences, and a “can do” demeanor is a must • Ability to work as part of a team and independently on complex problems. • Ability to identify patterns and trends in data and generate relevant business ins • Self-starter who can manage priorities independently while collaborating effectively within a cross-functional team environment. • Strong attention to detail without losing sight of the bigger picture • Position requires extreme confidentiality in handling/distributing reports and studies based on company's proprietary information.
