Our client, a leader in the Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) sector, is looking for a highly skilled and experienced Lead Data Scientist to drive critical business insights. This role is completely remote, allowing you to leverage your expertise from any location within the US. You will be instrumental in building and deploying advanced analytical models that uncover consumer trends, optimize product development, enhance supply chain efficiency, and inform strategic marketing decisions. This position requires a strong command of statistical modeling, machine learning algorithms, and data visualization techniques, with a specific focus on the unique challenges and opportunities within the FMCG industry. Responsibilities: Lead the design, development, and implementation of sophisticated machine learning models and statistical analyses to address key business questions in the FMCG space. Extract, clean, and transform large, complex datasets from various sources, ensuring data integrity and accuracy. Develop predictive models for consumer behavior, market trends, demand forecasting, and promotional effectiveness. Collaborate closely with marketing, product development, sales, and supply chain teams to translate data-driven insights into actionable business strategies. Mentor and guide a team of data scientists, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment. Design and execute A/B tests and other experimental designs to evaluate the impact of new initiatives. Communicate complex analytical findings clearly and concisely to both technical and non-technical audiences through compelling visualizations and presentations. Stay current with the latest advancements in data science, machine learning, and AI relevant to the FMCG industry. Contribute to the development of data governance standards and best practices. Qualifications: Master's or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, or a related quantitative field. 5+ years of experience in data science, with a significant portion focused on the FMCG sector. Proven expertise in statistical modeling, machine learning (e.g., regression, classification, clustering, time series analysis), and deep learning frameworks. Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or R, and experience with SQL. Experience with big data technologies (e.g., Spark, Hadoop) and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP). Strong data visualization skills using tools like Tableau, Power BI, or Matplotlib/Seaborn. Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic remote work environment.
