Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Systems Administrator to join their growing IT infrastructure team. This is a fully remote position, allowing you to contribute to critical IT operations from the comfort of your home office. The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge of server administration, network management, cloud technologies, and cybersecurity best practices. You will be responsible for maintaining the stability, security, and performance of our client's IT systems, ensuring seamless operations for all users. This role demands proactive problem-solving, meticulous attention to detail, and a strong commitment to delivering robust and reliable IT solutions. Responsibilities: Install, configure, and maintain server hardware and software across various operating systems (Windows Server, Linux). Manage and monitor network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs. Administer and optimize cloud-based services (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform). Implement and enforce robust cybersecurity measures to protect systems and data from threats. Perform regular system backups and develop disaster recovery plans. Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues in a timely and efficient manner. Develop and maintain system documentation, including configurations, procedures, and network diagrams. Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls. Automate routine administrative tasks using scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Bash). Collaborate with development teams to ensure system compatibility and performance. Stay updated on the latest technologies and industry best practices in systems administration and cybersecurity. Provide Tier 3 support for escalated technical issues. Participate in on-call rotation for critical system support. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. Minimum of 7 years of experience in systems administration and network management. Proven expertise in managing Windows Server and Linux environments. Strong experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP. In-depth knowledge of networking protocols, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP. Familiarity with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V). Experience with cybersecurity principles and tools. Proficiency in scripting for automation (PowerShell, Bash, Python). Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a remote team environment. Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Security+, MCSA, MCSE, or CCNA are a strong plus. This position is based out of Sacramento, California, US , but is a fully remote opportunity, allowing you to excel in a flexible work setting.
