Azure Cloud Engineer II job at Encore Talent Solutions. Cincinnati, OH. Summary of Responsibilities: Serves as a point of contact for Cloud/infrastructure-related projects, questions and issues. Participates in the design, implementation and administration of Cloud-based platform solutions working alongside Cloud Architects and other teams (e.g., Web, Database, Storage, Networking, IAM) to ensure that initial and anticipated future business requirements are presented. Partners with Information Security to ensure that the proposed infrastructure solution complies with our Cloud security standards. Position Responsibilities: • Monitors new developments in emerging Cloud technology trends. Identifies new products with potential benefit and conducts in-depth research and analysis of these products. • Demonstrates the applicability of tools in real-world applications. Investigates their use in the organization and recommends adoption of new technologies/methodologies when appropriate. • Provides “swat team” style support to development projects by resolving complex problems. • Ensures projects remain on track with aggressive schedules. • Engages in the SDLC of new systems and technologies and/or major system improvements. Frequently handles or directs projects, from research to implementation. • Ensures the feasibility of proposed projects and evaluates new software packages in terms of cost, resources, system capability, and other attributes. • Engages with vendors and third parties to support platforms and implement improvements. • Ensures SLA commitments both internally and externally. • Performs other duties as assigned by management. Other details: • Cloud engineer role, focused on Azure. If they only have AWS or Google Cloud experience that is OK. The skills should transfer but Azure experience is preferred. • Experience with infrastructure concepts (networking, firewalls, application design, security, etc.) • Familiarity with DevOps processes. Experience with Azure DevOps is helpful • Experience with Terraform and/or Bicep (Infrastructure as Code) • Will be part of the "Cloud" team, working closely with Security, Infrastructure, and Application teams to Architect, Implement, Monitor, and Manage application and service deployments to Azure and eventually other cloud platforms like AWS Selection Criteria: • Demonstrated ability to function on application and technical projects with little or no supervision. • Demonstrated adaptability when required to adjust to multiple demands, shifting priorities, ambiguity and rapid change. • Demonstrated experience setting goals and successfully implementing and achieving goals, seeking to improve business and technical processes. • Demonstrated experience effectively handling customers and providing excellent service. • Proven strong analytical skills, including demonstrated experience identifying and quantifying problems and providing effective solutions. Good decision-making skills when dealing with multiple alternatives. • Demonstrated experience working effectively within a team, motivating co-workers in difficult situations. • Must provide examples of working under multiple deadlines and minimal supervision. Successfully organizing and effectively completing projects where given little or no direction. • Proven verbal and written communication skills with ability to convey information to internal and external customers in a clear, focused and concise manner. Educational Requirements: • Bachelor’s degree in information security, computer science, or information technology or commensurate selection criteria experience. Qualifications: • 5+ years of professional IT experience including 2 years of support experience in related technologies such as Azure as well as other cloud platforms. • Solid infrastructure background, strong understanding of products and technologies such as Active Directory, Microsoft Exchange, messaging, etc., as well as Cloud infrastructure/services and delivery models. • Solid technical experience in infrastructure deployment and maintenance. • Good communication skills with experience in customer support.
