Our client, a major financial services organization, is seeking a seasoned Senior Security Architect to lead the design and implementation of robust cloud security solutions. This critical role involves defining security strategies, developing secure architectures, and ensuring compliance across multi-cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP). The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in cloud security best practices, threat modeling, and the implementation of advanced security controls. This position is fully remote, offering a significant degree of autonomy and flexibility. Responsibilities: Design, implement, and manage comprehensive security architectures for cloud environments. Develop and enforce cloud security policies, standards, and procedures. Conduct security risk assessments and threat modeling for cloud services and applications. Implement and manage security controls, including identity and access management (IAM), network security, data encryption, and vulnerability management. Oversee security incident response planning and execution within the cloud. Collaborate with development and operations teams to embed security into the CI/CD pipeline (DevSecOps). Evaluate and recommend new cloud security technologies and solutions. Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards (e.g., SOC 2, ISO 27001). Provide security guidance and mentorship to technical teams. Stay current with the latest cloud security threats and mitigation strategies. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field; Master's degree preferred. 8+ years of experience in information security, with at least 5 years focused on cloud security architecture. Proven expertise in securing AWS, Azure, and/or GCP environments. Strong understanding of security principles, including network security, cryptography, IAM, and application security. Experience with security automation and scripting (e.g., Python, Terraform). Relevant security certifications such as CISSP, CCSP, or cloud-specific security certifications are highly desirable. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote setting. This role requires a security-focused individual working remotely, but with ties to Jacksonville, Florida, US for occasional strategic meetings.
