Our client is a leading innovator in the technology sector, seeking a highly accomplished Senior Security Architect to design and implement robust security solutions for their cutting-edge cloud environments. This role is fully remote, offering a unique opportunity to contribute to a critical function from anywhere within the United States. The Senior Security Architect will be responsible for developing and maintaining the overall security strategy for the company's cloud infrastructure, ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of sensitive data. You will lead the design and deployment of security controls, conduct risk assessments, and collaborate with engineering and operations teams to embed security best practices throughout the development lifecycle. This position requires extensive experience with cloud security principles, threat modeling, and modern security technologies. Responsibilities: Design, implement, and manage comprehensive security architectures for cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP). Develop and enforce security policies, standards, and procedures across the organization. Conduct regular security assessments, vulnerability scans, and penetration testing. Lead threat modeling exercises to identify and mitigate potential security risks. Design and implement security controls for data protection, access management, network security, and application security. Collaborate with development, operations, and compliance teams to integrate security into the CI/CD pipeline. Develop and manage incident response plans and playbooks. Evaluate and recommend new security technologies and tools to enhance the security posture. Provide expert guidance on cloud security best practices and regulatory compliance (e.g., SOC 2, ISO 27001). Mentor junior security engineers and contribute to the growth of the security team. Stay current with emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and security trends. Qualifications: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field. 10+ years of experience in information security, with at least 5 years focused on cloud security architecture. In-depth knowledge of security principles for major cloud providers (AWS, Azure, GCP). Experience with security frameworks, compliance standards, and risk management methodologies. Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) for automation. Strong understanding of network security, cryptography, and identity and access management (IAM). Experience with security monitoring and SIEM tools. Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CCSP, or cloud-specific security certifications are highly desirable. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking skills. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex security concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
