The Cloud Operations Resilience Engineering (CORE) Technology division focuses on advancing Capital One's cloud infrastructure, ensuring high availability, resilience, and observability. What You'll Do: • Drive a diverse portfolio of technology projects while leading a talented team of developers specializing in machine learning, distributed microservices, and full-stack solutions, addressing key regulatory needs. • Stay updated on tech trends, experiment with emerging technologies, and be an active participant in both internal and external tech communities, mentoring fellow engineers along the way. • Collaborate closely with digital product managers to deliver robust cloud-based solutions that empower millions of customers in their financial journeys. • Utilize programming languages such as Java, Python, SQL, Ruby, and Go, along with container orchestration tools like Docker and Kubernetes, and configuration management tools like Ansible and Terraform, in conjunction with various AWS services. Basic Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree. • At least 4 years of experience in DevOps Engineering (internship experience does not apply). • At least 3 years of experience working with Cloud Native technologies (AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform). • A minimum of 4 years in Unix or Linux system administration. Preferred Qualifications: • 7+ years of DevOps Engineering experience. • 4+ years of proficiency in coding and scripting languages (Python, SQL, Java, JavaScript, Golang, Bash, Perl, or Ruby). • 4+ years of hands-on experience with technologies such as Apache Mesos, Marathon, or Apache Spark. • 4+ years of using build and deployment tools (Jenkins, Docker). • 2+ years of working with distributed database systems (Cassandra, ElasticSearch). • 2+ years of experience deploying clustered web services. • 2+ years working within Agile Development Practices. This role is located in Richmond, VA, where the full-time annual salary ranges from $175,800 to $200,700, and is also eligible for performance-based incentives.
