At Capital One, we are seeking a Senior DevOps Software Engineer to join our Cloud Operations Resilience Engineering (CORE) team. This is an exciting opportunity to lead innovative projects that will transform our cloud infrastructure and enhance our operational resilience. In this role, you will: • Lead a portfolio of diverse technology projects, guiding a talented team of developers with expertise in machine learning, distributed microservices, and full stack systems. • Create solutions that comply with regulatory requirements while driving efficiency and innovation. • Stay ahead of technology trends, experiment with new tools, and actively participate in community knowledge-sharing. • Work closely with product managers to deliver robust cloud-based solutions that empower millions of Americans. • Utilize programming languages such as Java, Python, SQL, Ruby, and Go, along with container orchestration services like Docker and Kubernetes. • Implement configuration management tools like Ansible and Terraform, and make use of a variety of AWS tools and services. Basic Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree. • At least 4 years of experience in DevOps Engineering (Internship experience does not apply). • At least 3 years of experience in Cloud Native technologies (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud). • At least 4 years of Unix or Linux system administration experience. Preferred Qualifications: • 7 years of overall DevOps Engineering experience. • 4 years of coding and scripting experience in languages such as Python, SQL, Java, JavaScript, Golang, Bash, Perl, or Ruby. • Experience with Apache Mesos, Marathon, or Apache Spark over a 4-year period. • Proficiency in using build and deployment tools like Jenkins and Docker. • 2 years of experience with distributed database systems (e.g., Cassandra, ElasticSearch). • Experience deploying clustered web services and working within Agile Development Practices for at least 2 years. Capital One will not sponsor a new applicant for employment authorization. The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role in Richmond, VA, range from $175,800 to $200,700. This role also qualifies for performance-based incentives, including cash bonuses and long-term incentives.
