Pharmacy Analytics Consultant The Pharmacy Analytics Consultant plays a crucial role in supporting Pharmacy and Medical Drug information needs using a range of analytic tools and applications. This position collaborates closely with internal and external stakeholders as well as management to drive strategies for growth, compliance, and affordability across the enterprise. The consultant works within a multidisciplinary team including clinical, financial, sales, and leadership roles to provide actionable recommendations that enhance pharmacy financial performance. The role involves preparing and presenting insights that help management and customers achieve their goals effectively. Key Responsibilities: Level I: • Manage and lead research projects to meet business objectives across the organization. • Analyze data to identify business problems, trends, or opportunities for process improvement. • Provide consulting and analytic support within the Pharmacy Division and across departments to enhance Pharmacy Benefit effectiveness and affordability. • Develop innovative Pharmacy products through research, analysis, and feasibility evaluation. • Effectively communicate with all organizational levels regarding health plan costs, utilization trends, and savings strategies. • Present insights and recommendations to management and project sponsors. • Deliver actionable insights to key stakeholders and collaborate in meetings with partners. • Work with Sales, Finance, and Actuarial teams to conduct comparative pricing analyses for Pharmacy Benefit Requests for Proposal. • Support strategy development and innovative programs that align with enterprise goals. • Ensure compliance with regulations and participate in CMS and DOH audits. • Create standardized reporting and processes to maintain business operations. • Stay updated on analytic tools and data sources to efficiently deliver data. • Compile complex datasets and provide user-friendly, actionable insights. • Consult with analytic units to develop efficient reports and dashboards. • Engage with external partners to support Health Plan objectives. • Enhance Pharmacy knowledge and consulting skills to contribute to cost savings. • Collaborate across departments to implement cost-reducing strategies in healthcare. • Prioritize tasks across multiple projects and meet deadlines successfully. • Foster collaborative relationships across functional teams. • Proactively identify and resolve issues related to data analyses. • Uphold high standards of integrity aligned with the mission and values of the organization. • Maintain privacy in accordance with corporate policies. • Regular attendance is required. • Perform other assigned tasks as needed. Level II (in addition to Level I Responsibilities): • Assist in training and mentoring fellow analysts. • Serve as a subject matter expert in team meetings. • Participate in project teams to recommend data strategies for optimizing analytic tool utilization. • Develop strategies for producing deliverables with an emphasis on efficiency. Minimum Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Medical Informatics, Economics, or related field preferred; or a minimum of two years of relevant analytical experience. • Working knowledge of analytic tools including SAS, Cognos, Excel, and others. • Proficient in SAS or Cognos and Microsoft Office Suite. • Understanding of basic statistical concepts and strong analytical skills. • Ability to simplify complex data for diverse audiences using visual tools. • Demonstrated initiative and the ability to work collaboratively. • Familiarity with the healthcare environment and operational knowledge. • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to engage various stakeholders. • Ability to adapt to industry changes and shifting priorities. Level II (in addition to Level I Qualifications): • Minimum of three years of analytic experience in the healthcare industry. • Advanced knowledge of statistical concepts and strong problem-solving skills. • Excellent interaction skills with internal and external customers. • Experience managing large datasets and integrating multiple data sources. • Proficient in programming and strong analytical capabilities. • Ability to produce high-quality work under minimal supervision. Physical Requirements: • Ability to work extended periods at a workstation and use a computer. • Ability to engage in remote work as needed. • Willingness to travel as needed across the Health Plan service region.
