Description ACARA Solutions and our large defense client have a 100% REMOTE contract-to-direct hire position available Microsoft 365 Cloud Administrator $61.00-$70.00 per hour Due to the nature of work performed, U.S. citizenship is required Microsoft 365 Cloud AdministratorOverview: As a Microsoft 365 Cloud Administrator, you will support secure, mission-critical environments by managing and optimizing Microsoft 365 services and integrations. You'll work with cross-functional teams to ensure application performance, user support, and compliance-contributing to national security missions through robust IT operations. Key Responsibilities: • Microsoft 365 Administration • Manage user identities, access, and permissions across Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, and OneDrive. • Configure mailboxes, shared resources, email security, and compliance policies (e.g., DLP, eDiscovery, retention). • Administer SharePoint Online and Microsoft Teams, ensuring seamless collaboration and document management. • Monitor service health and troubleshoot issues via Microsoft 365 admin tools and PowerShell. • Application & Infrastructure Support • Maintain system availability: run batch jobs, execute SQL scripts, review logs, and perform patching and backups. • Support operational uptime through monitoring, capacity planning, performance tuning, and incident response. • Ensure compliance with SOX, security policies, and audit standards through access control, documentation, and system logging. • Customer & Technical Engagement • Respond to service requests, incidents, and technical inquiries. • Provide mentoring, end-user support, and contribute to technology adoption efforts. • Collaborate with vendors and IT teams to manage integrations, upgrades, and new capability rollouts. • Project & Process Leadership • Lead small-scale initiatives, resolve complex issues, and drive innovation. • Evaluate emerging tools, industry trends, and vendor roadmaps to align systems with best practices. • Support DevOps, automation, and lifecycle initiatives in fast-paced, high-security environments. Required Skills & Experience: • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 administration and PowerShell scripting. • Intermediate knowledge of networking (DNS, HTTP, IP), virtualization, and security. • Experience with SQL scripting, batch automation, and enterprise application support. • Strong problem-solving, communication, and documentation abilities. • Ability to manage multiple priorities, lead initiatives, and influence cross-functional stakeholders. Preferred Qualifications: • Microsoft 365 or Azure certifications. • Background in software development, systems engineering, or solution architecture. • Familiarity with DevOps, Agile methodologies, and automation tools. • Experience with regulatory compliance frameworks (e.g., SOX, NIST). Job Requirements Required Skills / Qualifications: • Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or Systems Administration • Minimum 8 years of experience in supporting critical application software (local, network installed, and SaaS) to include medium to complex troubleshooting, research • Minimum 8 years of experience in server architecture and understanding of virtualization technologies, storage systems, enterprise security practices, and replication technologies • Minimum 8 years of experience in the Internet and its key configuration components (DNS, http, IP addressing, Subnetting), and different methods of file transfer (FTP, SFTP, FTPS, NDM) • Minimum 8 years of experience in solutions development methodologies (DevOps, Agile, Software Development Lifecycle) • Minimum 8 years of experience in SQL scripts and other scripting languages, and experience with batch automation and automation tools • Minimum 8 years of experience in developing solutions to extremely complex, cross-domain problems requiring significant business acumen, technical knowledge, ingenuity, creativity, and innovation Preferred Skills / Qualifications: • Master's Degree • Experience as a developer, systems integrator, systems engineer, and solutions architect. • Experience as a Current application administrator • Knowledge of development languages, platforms, and tools • Ability to read and comprehend technical manuals and maintain procedural documentation • Evidence of ability to act independently on large and unique tasks and wide-ranging initiatives using a subject matter expertise of the Application or System Admin discipline • Has the ability to evaluate intangibles in the analysis of significant and unique initiatives, situations, alternatives, proposals, designs, architectures, risks, data, systems, and constructs • Solid organizational skills, including: superior ability to lead initiatives and cross-functional projects; a facility to handle multiple tasks and deliverables simultaneously; a track record of exercising independent judgment appropriately; and the ability to quickly understand and execute complex assignments when working on high-profile outcomes with inherent risk • Excellent presentation, oral/written communication, and inter-personal skills, including the ability to: anticipate, influence & adapt to a wide range of audiences; cultivate relationships and leverage organizational understanding to facilitate decision making and buy-in • A history that illustrates flexibility and adaptability to changing business needs and shows the ability to recognize the need for change • Excellent track record of being capable of working with significant uncertainty, resistance, barriers, issues, and challenges; converting uncertainty into quantifiable impact, risk, and mitigating actions.
