Job Description The Project Technician II is a mid-level technical resource responsible for the successful delivery of IT projects for our Managed Services Provider (MSP) clients. This role combines hands-on technical implementation with strong customer interaction, ensuring projects are completed on time, within scope, and to the highest standards of quality. The Project Technician II works both onsite at client locations and in-office, collaborating with project managers, engineers, and client stakeholders to execute deployments, migrations, and upgrades. They will also be responsible for staging inventory at the ITS local office, providing guidance and oversight to Project Technicians for the PC deployment projects. Job Responsibilities Project Delivery Install, configure, and support hardware, software, and network infrastructure as part of client project engagements. Execute technical tasks for projects including, but not limited to, server deployments, workstation rollouts, network equipment installations, cloud migrations, and security solutions. Perform structured testing and validation of installed solutions to ensure they meet project requirements and client expectations. Collaborate with Project Managers to understand scope, timelines, and deliverables. Client Onsite Support Travel to client locations to perform technical work, resolve deployment issues, and provide end-user guidance during project cutovers. Represent the company professionally and build strong rapport with client stakeholders. Provide clear communication on project status, challenges, and progress while onsite. Office-Based Project Work Prepare and stage equipment prior to onsite deployment. Document all technical steps, configurations, and outcomes in the company’s project management system. Assist with post-project support and handoff to the Managed Services team. Collaboration & Documentation Work closely with senior project engineers for escalations and guidance on complex issues. Maintain accurate project documentation, including network diagrams, configuration notes, and asset inventories. Follow established best practices, change management, and quality assurance procedures. Job Qualifications 3+ years of experience in IT support or project delivery, preferably in a Managed Services Provider environment. Strong technical skills in Microsoft 365, Windows Server, Active Directory, networking (LAN/WAN, VLANs, firewall configuration), and endpoint deployment. Familiarity with virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V) and cloud technologies (Azure, AWS). Experience with Immybot Excellent troubleshooting skills across hardware, software, and networking. Strong customer service orientation with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users. Ability to work independently and manage time effectively while balancing multiple projects. Willingness to travel to client sites (local and occasionally regional). Preferred Qualifications Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Server+, Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate, Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals, or equivalent. Experience with PSA/RMM tools (e.g., ConnectWise, Automate, Immybot). Prior experience working in a fast-paced MSP environment with multiple concurrent client projects. KPI >80% Utilization, 0 stale projects, NPS Working Conditions Available to work Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM Pacific Time (PST). Hybrid role with a mix of onsite client visits and in-office project work. May require evening or weekend work for cutovers, migrations, or urgent deployments. Requires lifting and transporting equipment up to 50 lbs. Compensation Pay rate ranges from $24.75/hour up to $29.58/hour and may vary by experience and location.
