Job Title: Azure Data Engineer Location: Onsite – Phoenix, AZ Position ID: 47362-1 Pay Rate: $50/hr Experience Required: 5 to 8 Years Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Azure Data Engineer to join our team in Phoenix, AZ. This role will be instrumental in designing and implementing cloud-based data engineering solutions using the Microsoft Azure ecosystem. The ideal candidate will bring a strong blend of hands-on technical capabilities and strategic problem-solving skills to manage and optimize data pipelines, drive insights, and support scalable analytics infrastructure. Key Responsibilities: Collaborate with source data teams and product owners to design, build, and maintain data engineering solutions that support analytics and reporting. Develop and maintain scalable batch and streaming data pipelines using Azure services including Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, Azure Functions, Event Hub, and Stream Analytics. Work across the full development lifecycle including: Cloud infrastructure setup (network, security, admin) Data ingestion and transformation Modeling and optimization Testing, CI/CD pipeline creation Deployment and production support Provide technical leadership within a DevOps model; contribute to code reviews and best practices. Support and lead the development of advanced visualizations and dashboards using Power BI and other tools. Work effectively with a geographically dispersed, Agile team, aligned to CST time zone. Minimum Qualifications: Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical field (or equivalent experience). Minimum 3 years of experience in software development with a focus on data engineering and cloud technologies. Minimum 3 years of experience working with SQL in a data analytics environment. Minimum 2 years of cloud development (preferably Microsoft Azure) including: Azure Event Hub Azure Data Factory Azure Databricks Azure DevOps Azure Blob Storage Azure Power Apps Power BI Technical Skills: Programming/Scripting: Python, PySpark, Unix, SQL Data Platforms: Teradata, SQL Server, Azure Data Explorer Cloud Tools: Azure Data Factory, Azure Functions, Azure Databricks, Azure Power Apps, Azure Blob Storage CI/CD & Infrastructure Tools: GitHub, Azure DevOps, Terraform Visualization/BI: Power BI, Cognos Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and DevOps practices Preferred Qualifications: 5+ years of software solution development using Agile/DevOps approaches 3+ years of full-stack or cloud-based data engineering experience Experience working with Azure ADX, ASA, and Power Platform Experience with FAST API is a plus Prior experience in the airline industry is a strong advantage
