Position Overview: We are seeking a highly experienced Senior IT Infrastructure Systems Administrator to oversee and maintain critical enterprise systems across Pearl Harbor and Guam locations. This senior-level position requires expertise in Windows Server Administration, Storage and Backup Systems, Virtualization Infrastructure, and Terminal Services in a secure DoD environment. Key Responsibilities: Systems Administration & Operations • Lead administration of Windows servers, NAS systems, tape libraries, virtualization platforms, and terminal services across multi-site enterprise infrastructure • Maintain system availability and uptime through proactive monitoring, performance tuning, and rapid incident response • Perform advanced troubleshooting and repair of complex system outages to maintain service level agreements • Execute comprehensive backup and recovery operations including daily, weekly, monthly, and annual backup schedules Cybersecurity & Compliance • Ensure compliance with cybersecurity deadlines and requirements including STIG implementation, vulnerability management, and patch deployment • Monitor and analyze security scan results (ACAS), implement remediation plans, and maintain vulnerability documentation • Conduct daily security checks including event logs, audit logs, and system monitoring with complete audit trail documentation • Maintain server compliance with DoN, NAVSEA, PHNSY&IMF, and local configuration requirements Project Management & Technical Leadership • Lead IT infrastructure projects including system implementations, upgrades, and technology enhancements • Develop project scopes, timelines, resource requirements, and progress reports for Government management • Mentor junior administrators and provide technical guidance to contractors and government personnel • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, vendors, and other government agencies on complex technical initiatives Documentation & Process Improvement • Develop and maintain comprehensive Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for all administered systems • Create and update disaster recovery documentation and configuration management records • Identify automation opportunities to improve efficiency and consistency of operations • Generate metrics and reports including CO Cybersecurity Reports, NOSCC monthly metrics, and NAVSEA 04I IT metrics Qualifications: • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; OR 4 years of relevant experience in systems administration • Experience: 6-10 years experience in IT systems administration. • Certifications: Security+ CE or higher and one related operating environment certification required. Additional relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE) or Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) are preferred. • Technical Skills: • * Windows Server Administration: Advanced expertise in Windows Server 2016/2019/2022, Active Directory, Group Policy, PowerShell scripting • Storage & Backup Systems: Enterprise NAS administration, tape library management, backup/recovery solutions (Veeam, CommVault, or similar) • Virtualization: VMware vSphere, Hyper-V, or similar enterprise virtualization platforms • Terminal Services: Remote Desktop Services, Citrix, or equivalent remote access technologies • Security Tools: ACAS/Nessus, STIG implementation, vulnerability management, audit log analysis • Soft Skills: • * Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities. • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. • Strong organizational and time-management skills. • This position may require night, weekend or holiday support. • Active Secret security clearance.
