Senior Software Engineer - Microsoft Dynamics 365 & Power Platform Sacramento, CA (onsite) 6+ months Need - USC/GC/GC EAD, H4 EAD Tax terms: W2, 1099, C2C (if they have their own corporation) Client: CA State client - Department of IT Position Summary: We are looking for an experienced Senior Software Engineer with a deep understanding of Microsoft Dynamics 365 and the broader Microsoft Power Platform to lead the design and implementation of enterprise-grade business solutions. The ideal candidate will possess advanced skills in Dynamics 365 customization, process automation, Power BI reporting, and Dataverse configuration. This role combines strong technical proficiency with the ability to lead and collaborate across teams in a complex IT environment. Key Responsibilities: • Configure and customize Microsoft Dynamics 365 applications, including developing and managing Cloud Flows, managed/unmanaged solutions, and business process flows. • Design and implement automated business processes using Power BI, DocuSign, and other electronic signature tools. • Model and manage enterprise data structures and workflows in Microsoft Dataverse. • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (QA, product owners, stakeholders) to gather and refine business requirements and deliver scalable solutions. • Troubleshoot and resolve system issues, including flow failures and integration breakdowns within the Dynamics 365 ecosystem. • Apply best practices and ensure compliance with governance policies in solution development, deployment, and documentation. Required Qualifications: • Education: • Bachelor's degree in IT, Engineering, or a related field from a recognized institution. • In lieu of a degree: A total of 9 years of qualifying experience may substitute (including 5 years of required experience plus 4 additional years). • Experience (Minimum Requirements): • At least 5 years in electronic data processing systems study, design, and programming, including 3 years in a lead capacity. • 3+ years of hands-on experience (within the last 7 years) in: • Microsoft Dynamics 365 configuration • Cloud Flows and business processes • Managed/unmanaged solution management • 1+ year (within the last 3 years) in: • Automating manual processes • Developing Power BI dashboards and reports • Integrating electronic signature tools such as DocuSign • 1+ year (within the last 3 years) designing and implementing data models using Microsoft Dataverse • 3+ years working with programming languages like PL/SQL, Python, or Java for data integration and manipulation • 3+ years conducting systems analysis, business process reviews, solution design, and documentation Desirable Qualifications: • Advanced Education: • Master's degree or Ph.D. in a relevant field from a recognized institution • Preferred Experience: • 7+ years in system design, programming, and enterprise solution implementation • 5+ years in a leadership role overseeing technical teams and complex IT projects • 5+ years in solution analysis and documentation across various enterprise systems • 5+ years using development languages for data manipulation and platform integration Preferred Skills and Certifications: • Microsoft Power Platform certifications (e.g., PL-200, PL-400) • Experience in Agile development environments • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills • Proficiency in technical documentation and business process mapping
