Job Summary We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Network Administrator to join our dynamic IT team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing and optimising our network infrastructure, ensuring high availability and security across all systems. This role requires a deep understanding of various networking protocols, security measures, and the ability to troubleshoot complex network issues. The Senior Network Administrator will play a crucial role in supporting our organisation's IT needs while implementing best practices in network management. Duties • Design, implement, and maintain network infrastructure including LAN, WAN, and VPN solutions. • Configure and manage firewalls (Cisco ASA), routers (Cisco routers), and switches to ensure optimal performance and security. • Monitor network performance using tools such as SolarWinds, PRTG, and Splunk to identify and resolve issues proactively. • Manage remote access software and ensure secure connections through IPsec and SSL encryption. • Oversee DNS, DHCP, Active Directory, and LDAP configurations to support user authentication and resource access. • Implement routing protocols such as BGP, OSPF, EIGRP for efficient data flow across the network. • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support telecommunication systems and VoIP solutions. • Conduct regular system administration tasks on various operating systems including Debian, CentOS, Ubuntu, Windows, macOS, and Solaris. • Develop automation scripts using Ansible, PowerShell, Bash (Unix shell), or Python for efficient network management. • Ensure compliance with ITIL standards while managing incidents and changes within the network environment. Experience The successful candidate should possess extensive experience in network engineering with a strong background in computer networking. Key qualifications include: • Proven expertise in network security measures including IDS/IPS systems and encryption technologies. • Familiarity with cloud services such as AWS and Azure for hybrid networking solutions. • Experience with SAN technologies and load balancing techniques to enhance system performance. • Knowledge of virtualisation technologies including VMware vSphere and Citrix for efficient resource management. • Understanding of SDLC principles as they relate to network deployment projects. • Strong analytical skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex networking issues effectively.
