Job Summary: We are looking for a Data Management Technical Lead. The Data Management Technical Lead will be responsible for overseeing the implementation, administration, and optimization of our data management environment. This includes managing Azure cloud services, SQL Server databases, Apache Tomcat applications, and leveraging cutting-edge analytics tools like Power BI and Data Bricks. You will provide technical leadership to data engineering teams, optimize data pipelines, and ensure that systems meet performance, reliability, and security standards. This work is located onsite in the DC area. Qualifications: • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Technology, or a related field. • 7+ years of experience in data management, with at least 3+ years in a technical leadership or SME role. • Expertise in Azure Administration and management, including Azure SQL Database, Azure Data Lake, and Azure Storage. • Deep understanding of SQL Server/Database Administration, including performance tuning, backup strategies, and migrations. • Hands-on experience with Apache Tomcat for web application and service management. • Proficiency with R Studio for data analysis, modeling, and statistical computations. • Experience working with Azure Databricks for data engineering and big data processing. • Advanced knowledge of Power BI for report creation, data visualization, and dashboard management. • Proven ability to lead technical teams, mentor staff, and communicate effectively with stakeholders. • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues. • Understanding of data governance, security protocols, and regulatory compliance standards related to data management. Desirable Skills: • Experience with Azure DevOps for continuous integration and deployment of data management solutions. • Familiarity with scripting and automation using PowerShell, Python, or Azure CLI. • Certifications in Microsoft Azure, SQL Server, Databricks, or Power BI are a plus. • Experience with Machine Learning or AI applications in data management (e.g., using R or Databricks).
