OverviewModern Technology Solutions, Inc. (MTSI) is seeking a Web Developer to join our team in Annapolis Junction, Maryland.As a Web Developer with MTSI, you will design, develop, test, and maintain websites and web applications that improve communication and information exchange with customers. In this role, you will enable mission-critical capabilities for a customer essential to the national security of the United States. Responsibilities include gathering requirements, analyzing technologies, coordinating components, and integrating them into cohesive designs while adhering to relevant laws, standards, and guidelines. You will create visually appealing, user-friendly interfaces and ensure effective configuration management.This position offers the opportunity to design architectures, deliver enterprise-level web solutions, and enhance your skills in both cloud and on-premise environments. You will join a small, talented, and dedicated development team focused on creating and maintaining web-based services.ResponsibilitiesMaintain a functioning user-accessible websiteCode less complex websites using HTML, Visual Basic, or other web-based programming languagesSupport website planning and deploymentWrite documentation regarding the website's technical requirementsMaintain website technical documentation to assist with website maintenance and upgradesApply concepts, develop, test, maintain, and support high-performance, innovative web-based applicationsTroubleshoot software problems and provide solutions using the latest technologiesWork with management and information technologists to determine specificationsUse a variety of internet technologies, techniques, and tools such as graphics software applications and object-oriented languages (e.g., Java, CGI, Visual Basic, HTML, XML) to create web page elements such as user interface features, site animation, special effects, databases, and e-business applicationsIn concert with the software development lead, develop, test, maintain, and support high-performance, innovative web-based applicationsAnalyze and troubleshoot complex software problems and provide solutions using the latest technologiesWork independently on more complex projectsIntegrate new web products with existing web applications to improve the functionality or design of the organization's websiteQualificationsBachelor’s degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university is required. Four years of additional Web Developer experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree.Required Experience4+ years of experience as a Web Developer in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required.Demonstrable work experience with one or more of the following:PythonJava.NET C#PHPNode.jsHTMLCSSJavaScriptVue.jsReactExperience with MariaDB, MS SQL, MySQL, or OracleExperience leading small teams and/or mentoring junior developersExperience deploying services in Linux environmentsNginx, Apache Tomcat, and/or IIS experienceExcellent troubleshooting skillsAbility to work independently and as part of a teamSelf-motivated and willing to learn new technologiesGood interpersonal skillsStrong desire to learn and growDesired ExperienceAWS (e.g. EC2, ASG, Lambda, etc.) or Azure cloud environmentsScripting languages such as PowerShell, Perl, and PythonWorking in an Agile development environment and GitClearance RequirementsTS/SCI clearance with Full Scope Polygraph.Active Full Scope Polygraph (Desired).U.S. Citizenship is required for this position.For additional company information, please visit: www.mtsi-va.comCore values and equal opportunity: MTSI embraces nine core values, including Employees come first.
