SQL Database Administrator job at iBrain Technologies, Inc. Saint Louis, MO. SQL DBA Location: St Louis MO Local candidates only The Sr. DBA is responsible for supporting SQL server databases and ensuring their performance, availability, and security within both the production and development environments. PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES: 1. Proactively monitors multiple database systems to ensure that available and secure services are provided to IT customers with a minimum of downtime. 2. Responsible for troubleshooting and problem solving of database issues 3. Assists SQL Developers with development needs and troubleshooting 4. Creates, maintains, and tests backup and disaster recovery plans. 5. Responsible for the maintenance of multiple databases, including new rollouts and upgrades to existing database management systems. 6. Responsible for implementation and release of database changes. 7. Provides trend analysis to the management team enabling them to make informed decisions regarding system resource needs. 8. Develops sufficient knowledge of the current IT applications supported by one or more database management systems. 9. Acquires knowledge of emerging technologies to analyze and offer solutions to current business application challenges. 10. Develops and enforces enterprise IT database and application development standards. 11. Other duties as needed or assigned. SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED: 1. Strong self-sufficiency and initiative working on all database projects. 2. Ability to manage on prem and Azure hosted MS SQL database security. 3. Strong analytical, organizational, documentation and communications skills. 4. Ability to work in a dynamic, deadline-oriented environment. 5. Experience developing and support all current versions of Microsoft SQL. 6. Experience supporting cloud based SQL solutions within MS Azure 7. Practical experience in monitoring and tuning databases. 8. In depth, hands-on experience with Transactional SQL, and stored procedures. 9. In depth SQL server database administration experience. MINIMUM LEVEL OF PREPARATION AND TRAINING NORMALLY REQUIRED: 1. A bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field or equivalent experience. 2. 3-5 years of experience in developing windows and/or web-based SQL applications. 3. 3-5 years of experience with cloud-based SQL solutions 4. 3-5 years of experience in a database management role. 5.
