Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior IT Systems Administrator with expertise in cloud infrastructure management to join their team on a fully remote basis. This role is essential for maintaining, optimizing, and securing our client's cloud-based IT environments, ensuring high availability and performance of critical systems. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP), virtualization technologies, network infrastructure, and robust security practices. As a remote-first position, this role requires exceptional self-management, strong problem-solving abilities, and a proactive approach to system monitoring and maintenance. Key Responsibilities: Administer, monitor, and maintain cloud infrastructure environments (AWS, Azure, GCP). Deploy, configure, and manage virtual machines, containers, and other cloud-based resources. Implement and manage robust security measures, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and access controls. Ensure high availability and disaster recovery capabilities for critical systems. Automate routine tasks using scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Python, Bash). Perform system updates, patching, and performance tuning. Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to servers, networks, and cloud services. Develop and maintain system documentation, operational procedures, and best practices. Collaborate with development teams to support application deployments and infrastructure needs. Participate in on-call rotation for emergency support. Stay up-to-date with the latest cloud technologies and security threats. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. Minimum of 7 years of experience in IT systems administration, with at least 4 years focused on cloud environments. Proficiency with at least one major cloud platform (AWS, Azure, GCP) and related services. Strong experience with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V). Solid understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs). Experience with scripting and automation tools. Knowledge of security best practices and compliance frameworks. Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Strong communication and collaboration skills, adept at working within a remote team. Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Administrator Associate) are a plus.
