Our client is seeking a highly experienced and skilled Senior Systems Administrator with a strong focus on cloud infrastructure to join their team in a fully remote capacity. This role is essential for maintaining, optimizing, and securing our client's cloud-based IT environment. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), server administration, network management, and security best practices. Responsibilities: Administer and maintain cloud infrastructure across AWS, Azure, or GCP environments, ensuring high availability and performance. Implement, configure, and manage virtualized environments and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes). Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement proactive solutions to prevent downtime. Manage and maintain server operating systems (Linux/Windows), including patching, updates, and security hardening. Develop and implement robust backup and disaster recovery strategies. Manage network configurations, firewalls, and VPNs to ensure secure and efficient connectivity. Implement and enforce security policies and procedures to protect cloud assets and data. Automate routine administrative tasks using scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash, PowerShell). Collaborate with development teams to support application deployment and infrastructure needs. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior IT staff. Participate in on-call rotations to provide 24/7 support for critical infrastructure issues. Document system configurations, processes, and procedures. Evaluate and recommend new technologies and solutions to improve IT operations. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Minimum of 6-8 years of experience in systems administration, with at least 3-5 years focused on cloud infrastructure management. Proven expertise with at least one major cloud provider (AWS, Azure, GCP), including services like EC2, S3, VPC, IAM, RDS, Azure VMs, etc. Strong knowledge of server operating systems (Linux distributions like Ubuntu, CentOS; Windows Server). Experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) is highly desirable. Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell for automation. Solid understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, firewalls, load balancers). Experience with monitoring tools (e.g., Nagios, Zabbix, Prometheus, Datadog). Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices. Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a remote team environment. Relevant cloud certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Administrator Associate) are a significant plus.
