Our client, a rapidly expanding financial services firm based in vibrant Miami, Florida , is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Information Security Architect with a strong emphasis on cloud security. This role is critical for designing, implementing, and maintaining robust security architectures that protect the firm's sensitive data and systems across on-premises and cloud environments. You will be responsible for setting the security strategy for cloud adoption, ensuring compliance with industry regulations, and mitigating evolving cyber threats. This position requires deep technical expertise in cybersecurity principles, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), and a proactive approach to threat detection and response. The role is office-based in Miami, Florida , fostering close collaboration with IT and business teams. Responsibilities: Design, develop, and implement secure cloud architectures and solutions in alignment with industry best practices and regulatory requirements (e.g., GDPR, CCPA, PCI DSS). Evaluate and select appropriate security technologies and tools to protect cloud infrastructure, applications, and data. Develop and maintain security policies, standards, and procedures for cloud environments. Conduct security risk assessments, vulnerability analyses, and penetration testing to identify and remediate security weaknesses. Collaborate with cloud engineering and operations teams to integrate security controls throughout the development and deployment lifecycle (DevSecOps). Lead incident response activities for security breaches or potential threats in cloud environments. Provide expert guidance on security best practices for identity and access management, data encryption, network security, and application security in the cloud. Develop and deliver security awareness training to employees. Stay current with emerging security threats, vulnerabilities, and technologies, and proactively adjust security strategies accordingly. Act as a security subject matter expert for various projects and initiatives. Ensure compliance with all relevant data privacy and security regulations. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field; Master's degree preferred. 8+ years of experience in information security, with a minimum of 4 years focused on cloud security architecture. In-depth knowledge of security principles for major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), including their security services and configurations. Proven experience with security frameworks such as ISO 27001, NIST, and CIS Controls. Strong understanding of network security, cryptography, identity and access management (IAM), and endpoint security. Experience with security tools such as SIEM, IDS/IPS, WAF, and vulnerability scanners. Relevant security certifications such as CISSP, CCSP, or cloud security certifications are highly desirable. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
