Summary/Objective The Jr. Systems Administrator (JSM) is accountable for maintaining and supporting all IT systems by configuring, installing, and providing technical support for end-user equipment, software applications, and servers. The JMS actively participates in technical research and development to foster innovation within the infrastructure. They ensure that system hardware, operating systems, software systems, and related procedures align with organizational values, facilitating support for staff, volunteers, and partners. The position requires troubleshooting expertise to resolve hardware, software, and network issues, as well as ensuring adherence to company policies and maintaining up-to-date documentation. The individual must demonstrate the ability to work collaboratively and independently with minimal supervision. Essential Functions • Support and refine IT policies and standards as required. • Provide 24/7 enterprise support and ensure availability of critical systems. • Develop, test, and maintain a comprehensive Disaster Recovery plan. • Assume the role of Application Specialist as requested. • Manage legal, contractual, and licensing agreements with IT vendors. • Collaborate with external vendors to achieve departmental objectives. • Serve as Project Manager when needed, ensuring budget, timeline, and quality goals are met. • Prioritize and manage incident tickets to meet business SLAs. • Ensure consistent communication with staff regarding issues that impact their workgroup in collaboration with department managers. • Align computer and voice systems with business strategic plans. • Install new or rebuild existing hardware and configure peripherals, services, settings, directories, storage, etc., according to standards. • Develop and maintain comprehensive installation and configuration documentation. • Monitor systems daily, verifying the integrity and availability of hardware, server resources, and critical processes, reviewing logs and confirming completion of scheduled tasks like backups. • Conduct regular security monitoring to detect potential intrusions. • Regularly apply OS patches, upgrades, and administrative tool updates, configuring new services, users, and computers as required. • Perform periodic performance reporting to support capacity planning. • Maintain data center environmental and monitoring equipment. • Stay informed about technological advancements and their potential application within the organization. • Maintain and support email systems, internet filters, anti-virus systems, and overall network and system security. • Install software updates, system upgrades, and maintain system backups. • Professionally engage in small project collaboration with business partners, departments, and teams. • Support IT operations at the Hotel, including property-specific systems. • Familiarity or willingness to learn Oracle PMS, Profit Sword, and Guest Entertainment Systems. Required Education and Experience • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science preferred. • Prefer MCSE/MCITP/CCNP certifications. • Minimum of 2 years hands-on experience with Windows 10, Server 2019, 2025, MS Entra, MS Intune, Amazon AWS, SQL Server, and Microsoft Office. • Minimum of 1 year hands-on experience with one or more of the following: VMWare, Hyper-V, M365, MS SharePoint, MS Defender, ITIL.
