Title: IT Business Analyst (Solution Driven) With Banking Services Domain Experience Location: 1Pittsburgh, PA Duration: 12 Months Rate: Negotiable Job Summary As a Solution Driven IT Business Analyst, you will act as a key liaison between the business and technology teams to drive the development and implementation of innovative solutions. You will be responsible for analyzing complex business problems within the banking and financial services sector, eliciting and documenting detailed requirements, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver effective technology solutions that improve operational efficiency, enhance customer experience, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards. This role requires a strong understanding of both business operations and technology to design and deliver innovative, customer-centric solutions. Need to work closely with business leaders, enterprise architects, and development teams to translate strategic goals into tangible, high-quality technical solutions. This role is less about writing code and more about understanding the business's goals and designing technical solutions to meet those objectives. The "solution driven" aspect emphasizes a results-oriented mindset, focused on creating and implementing practical, valuable outcomes. Key Responsibilities Business process analysis: Evaluate, analyze, and optimize end-to-end business processes within a banking environment to identify opportunities for improvement and automation. Requirements gathering: Conduct interviews, workshops, and meetings with stakeholders from various departments (e.g., operations, retail banking, and risk) to elicit, document, and prioritize business requirements. Solution design and recommendation: • Propose innovative solutions to solve business problems and improve efficiencies. • Develop high-level requirements and functional specifications, translating business needs into technical requirements for the development teams. Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation, including Business Requirements Documents (BRDs), functional specifications, user stories, use cases, and process flows. Project and stakeholder management: • Manage timelines and deliverables, coordinating with project managers and cross-functional teams to ensure successful project execution. • Lead communication between business stakeholders and technical teams throughout the project lifecycle. Testing and implementation: • Coordinate with Quality Assurance and technical teams during the testing phases. • Represent end-users in the User Acceptance Testing (UAT) phase and assist with post-production issues. Problem-solving: Detect, analyze, and solve a variety of technical and business problems, offering solutions to improve efficiency and effectiveness. Compliance and risk assessment: Ensure that all proposed solutions comply with legislative and audit requirements, performing risk assessments on current and proposed IT systems. Qualifications Experience: 6 8 years of experience as an IT or Business Analyst, with a preference for candidates with experience in retail, commercial, or investment banking. Education: Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Computer Science, Information Technology, Finance, or Business Administration. Required Skills Banking domain knowledge: Strong understanding of banking practices, processes, and products (e.g., payments, account origination, deposits, and loans). Analytical and problem-solving skills: Excellent critical thinking and analytical abilities to assess business processes, identify pain points, and devise innovative solutions. Communication: Exceptional verbal, written, and interpersonal skills to effectively communicate complex concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders at all levels of the organization. Technical tools: • Proficiency with project management and documentation tools such as JIRA and Confluence. • Experience using SQL for data extraction and analysis. Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in evaluating and designing modern architecture patterns (e.g., microservices), cloud platforms (AWS, Azure), and integration technologies. Methodologies: Strong experience with Agile development methodologies (e.g., Scrum). Attention to detail: Meticulous attention to detail to ensure accuracy in requirements documentation and analysis. Project management: The ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively within a fast-paced environment.
