Our client is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Remote Senior Network Systems Administrator to join our fully remote IT infrastructure team. This role is integral to maintaining, securing, and optimizing our global network and server environments. You will be responsible for the design, implementation, and support of robust and scalable network solutions, ensuring maximum uptime and performance. This is a remote-first position, offering the flexibility to work from anywhere within the US, with a primary focus on maintaining our robust technological backbone. Extensive experience with enterprise-level network management and cloud infrastructure is essential. Responsibilities: Design, configure, deploy, and manage network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs. Administer and maintain Windows and Linux server environments, ensuring high availability and performance. Implement and manage cloud-based services and infrastructure (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP). Monitor network and system performance, identifying and resolving issues proactively. Develop and enforce security policies and procedures to protect network integrity and data confidentiality. Perform regular system backups and disaster recovery planning and testing. Troubleshoot and resolve complex network and system incidents, escalating as necessary. Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls. Document network configurations, system procedures, and troubleshooting guides. Collaborate with other IT team members to implement and support new technologies and projects. Provide technical support and guidance to end-users as needed. Stay current with emerging technologies and industry best practices in network and systems administration. Participate in on-call rotation for after-hours support as required. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in network administration and systems engineering. Strong understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, routing protocols (BGP, OSPF), and network security principles. Proficiency in managing virtualized environments (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V). Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) is highly desirable. Certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, CompTIA Network+, or similar are a strong plus. Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate technical information clearly. Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote work environment.
