We are seeking a high-performing IT Systems Administrator who will also serve as a Solution Architect for a fast-paced, 24/7 manufacturing environment. This individual will play a critical role in maintaining and optimizing our enterprise systems while architecting scalable and secure IT solutions that align with business goals. The ideal candidate will be hands-on, forward-thinking, and comfortable working across infrastructure, applications, and business units. They will also mentor and support the Level 2 IT Support Specialist and coordinate with the companys MSP to manage infrastructure operations and ensure service excellence. Systems Administration & Support Install, configure, monitor, and support physical and virtual servers, storage solutions, and networked systems. Administer and support Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy in hybrid on-prem/cloud environments. Manage Office 365 and Microsoft 365 services (Exchange Online, OneDrive, SharePoint, Teams, Azure AD). Perform system health checks, security reviews, and performance tuning. Lead and validate backup, disaster recovery, and failover processes. Provide advanced (Tier III) technical support and troubleshooting as needed. Serve as backup on-site network support and coordinate with MSP for escalations and project delivery. Design and implement scalable infrastructure and cloud-based solutions that meet operational and security requirements. Lead infrastructure projects from requirements gathering to implementation and handoff, including new software platforms, server builds, integrations, and migrations. Collaborate with the IT Director to identify technology needs, propose improvements, and develop the IT roadmap. Act as the technical liaison between internal stakeholders and external MSP teams for infrastructure, system maintenance, and security operations. Monitor MSP SLAs and assist the IT Director in holding vendors accountable for timely and high-quality service delivery. Provide training, technical guidance, and daily mentorship to the IT Support Specialist (Level 2). Develop and document SOPs, knowledge base articles, and system administration best practices. Promote a collaborative and knowledge-sharing culture within the IT team. Implement and maintain system security protocols, endpoint management tools, and compliance with cybersecurity frameworks (NIST, CIS, etc.). Ensure system integrity, change control documentation, and proper role-based access controls. Bachelors degree in information systems, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience). 7+ years of experience in systems administration or infrastructure engineering, preferably in manufacturing or 24/7 operations. Strong experience with Windows Server, VMware, Hyper-V, Microsoft 365, Azure, and backup/DR tools. Demonstrated experience designing and implementing IT solutions that support scale, security, and performance. Excellent troubleshooting, documentation, and project execution skills. Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation.
