Position: PostgreSQL – DevOps Database Administrator -W2 Contract Position Postgre SQL – Dev Ops Database Administrator Location Chicago, IL Job Responsibilities • Administer, maintain, and optimize Postgre SQL databases across development, testing, and production environments. • Leverage deep Postgre SQL internals knowledge and hands-on experience with the Azure ecosystem (especially Postgres Flex Servers). • Monitor database performance and implement proactive improvements to ensure efficiency and reliability. • Perform and manage backups, recovery, high availability, replication, and disaster recovery setups. • Collaborate with developers and Dev Ops teams to design and implement scalable database solutions. • Implement Dev Ops automation tools and frameworks for Azure CI/CD pipelines, managing database infrastructure in Azure cloud. • Write and optimize complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and functions. • Ensure database security, integrity, and compliance with regulatory standards. • Automate routine database administration tasks using scripting (e.g., Bash, Python, YAML). • Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues in a timely manner. • Participate in database design and architecture planning. • Manage and provision network and storage infrastructure to support Postgre SQL instances. Qualifications & Experience • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience). • 10+ years of experience as a Postgre SQL Database Administrator. • 3+ years of experience in Linux/Unix environments. • 3+ years of experience with AWS/Azure Cloud and Azure Dev Ops. • Strong, hands-on expertise with Postgre SQL administration and optimization. • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
