Microsoft Azure & M365 Cloud Architect 100% Onsite - Fort Lauderdale, FL Long-Term Contract We are hiring a Microsoft Azure & M365 Cloud Architect for a long-term. This position requires a highly skilled technical leader to serve as the architect and subject matter expert for both Azure IaaS and Microsoft 365 environments. The role involves designing and managing cloud infrastructure and collaboration tools, ensuring system security, and optimizing overall cloud performance and reliability. Responsibilities include managing Azure networking, firewalls, virtual machines, and app services, as well as overseeing M365 services like SharePoint, Teams, Exchange Online, and OneDrive. The architect will handle tenant-level settings, identity protection, SAML integrations, and compliance enforcement through Microsoft Purview. This role also includes user training, documentation, and support, in addition to leading migrations and staying current with Microsoft updates to assess their impact on the organization. Qualifications • Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, or equivalent combination of education and experience • 5+ years of hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure IaaS and M365 administration • Deep expertise in Microsoft 365 including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, Microsoft Teams, and Azure AD • Strong experience with PowerShell scripting for automation across M365 and SharePoint • Proficiency in troubleshooting complex multi-discipline issues including identity, mail flow, endpoint integration, and cloud security • Familiarity with Cloud Security Posture Management (CSPM) tools and Microsoft Purview compliance features (e.g., DLP, sensitivity labels, auditing) • Experience supporting Windows Server (2016-2025) and various Linux distributions Preferred Certifications: • Microsoft 365 Certified: Enterprise Administrator Expert • Azure Solutions Architect Expert • Experience migrating from VMware to Azure Nice to Have: • Experience in hybrid Active Directory and Exchange environments • Exposure to Agile or ITIL frameworks • Familiarity with VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) • Experience with Veeam VRO Seniority level • Seniority level Associate Employment type • Employment type Contract Job function • Job function Engineering and Information Technology • Industries IT Services and IT Consulting Referrals increase your chances of interviewing at ASCENDING Inc. by 2x Sign in to set job alerts for Cloud Architect roles.
