A design firm in the DFW area is growing their team and looking to hire a Senior System Administrator ona full time direct hire basis. This role is onsite in their Dallas, TX office. For this opportunity the responsibilities will involve leading infrastructure projects, infrastructure management of their on prem VMWare vSphere infrastructure, including ESXi hosts, vCenter Server, vSAN, and associated virtualization components, managing Windows server infrastructure, and overseeing storage infrastructure. You will also need to maintain documentation, implement and enforce security policies, assist with incident, change, and capacity management processes, manage the full lifecycle of operating systems and application software for networking and systems infrastructure, anything around installation, maintenance, patching, upgrades, and troubleshooting. You’ll perform daily system monitoring, verify system integrity and availability, review system and application logs, and ensure completion of scheduled jobs, including backups. Lastly, you will serve as a senior escalation point, providing expert-level support for complex systems and networking issues for the team. Required Skills & Experience • Bachelor's degree in computer science, MIS, or equivalent training or work experience • 8+ years of hands-on experience in systems and infrastructure administration, with a strong focus on VMware virtualization and Microsoft Windows Server environments. • VMware vSphere infrastructure, including ESXi, vCenter, vSAN • Microsoft Windows Server Administration (2012 R2, 2016, 2019, 2022) including Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP • Experience with storage solutions in a virtualized environment, SAN, NAS, object storage • Hybrid environment management, AWS or Azure cloud • Microsoft 365 Administration • Strong PowerShell scripting and automation skills Desired Skills & Experience • This role is primarily systems focused but experience with networking is a nice to have. Any hands-on experience with Cisco, Meraki and Palo Alto will be a big plus. • Any industry certifications: VMware VCP, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate, or similar cloud/system administration certifications are valued What You Will Be Doing Tech Breakdown • 95% Windows environment, plus some support for Linux (less than 5%), VMWare, SAN, physical attached and object storage, M365 administration, Azure, PowerShell scripting.
