Our client, a pioneering technology firm, is seeking an experienced and visionary Lead Architect to design and oversee the development of scalable cloud solutions. This is a fully remote position, enabling you to leverage your architectural expertise from anywhere in the US. The ideal candidate will have a profound understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), microservices architecture, containerization, and CI/CD pipelines. You will be responsible for defining the technical vision, setting architectural standards, and guiding engineering teams in the creation of robust, secure, and highly available cloud-native applications. This role demands a strategic thinker with exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to translate complex business requirements into elegant technical designs. Responsibilities: Define and maintain the architectural vision and roadmap for cloud-based solutions, ensuring alignment with business objectives. Design scalable, resilient, and cost-effective cloud architectures using best practices for microservices, containers (Docker, Kubernetes), and serverless technologies. Lead the selection and evaluation of cloud services and third-party tools. Establish and enforce architectural standards, guidelines, and patterns for development teams. Collaborate closely with product managers, engineering leads, and development teams to translate requirements into technical designs. Oversee the implementation of cloud infrastructure, including networking, security, and data storage. Drive the adoption of DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines to enable rapid and reliable software delivery. Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineering teams, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence. Conduct architectural reviews and ensure adherence to design principles. Identify and mitigate technical risks, ensuring the security and compliance of cloud solutions. Stay current with emerging cloud technologies and industry trends, recommending adoption where appropriate. Qualifications: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. 10+ years of experience in software architecture and development, with at least 5 years focused on cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP). Proven experience designing and deploying large-scale, distributed systems using microservices and containerization technologies. Expertise in cloud networking, security best practices, and infrastructure as code (IaC) tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation). Strong understanding of CI/CD principles and tools. Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills. Experience with data management strategies in the cloud. Familiarity with Agile methodologies. Cloud certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect Professional, Azure Solutions Architect Expert) are highly desirable.
