Position Description: • POSITION TITLE: Data Analytics (SME) • PERIOD OF PERFORMANCE: One year plus one six-month option period with potential to extend • PLACE OF PERFORMANCE: Arlington, Virginia 22209 • AREA OF CONSIDERATION: Must be a U.S. Citizen • PHYSICAL DEMANDS: None • TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: Potentially less than 2% per contract year • SECURITY REQUIREMENT: Must currently hold a public trust clearance • EDUCATION REQUIREMENT: Minimum of an undergraduate (Bachelors) degree in Information Technology, Information Systems Management, Computer Science, or a related field for a regionally accredited University registered with the Department of Education • CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENT: Certification in Microsoft Power Platforms (Power Automate and Power BI) is a plus. • Experience Requirements: · 5 years of experience with data visualization and reporting tools. · 2 years of experience with Microsoft Power BI. · Full understanding of SQL and relational database reporting architectures · 5+ years of progressive experience in business intelligence and/or information management · 2+ years of experience with data visualization and implementing high-value solutions; experience performing administrative activities across multi-environment infrastructures · 2+ years of experience working in a client-facing technical role · 5+ years of experience in SQL database management and administration • WORK WEEK: 40 Hours • SALARY: Negotiable • START DATE: Within the next 1 to 2 months The candidate shall develop an understanding of the organization’s overall goal, vision and objectives. Considering the organization’s mission and goals, the candidate will contribute to a project plan that ultimately produces a result that the organization’s programmers can support. Those duties may include, but are not limited to: The contractors shall deliver (under Government COR direction) Senior-Level Technical Subject Matter Expert for Business Intelligence. This Business Intelligence Designer will be a Subject Matter Expert (SME), which consists of the expert technical analysis, detailed planning, and/or execution for complex requirements in support of (iso) Business Intelligence and Analytical Skills for the delivery of State-of-the-Art Web Content and Dashboards for Readiness Function Metrics and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) in support of the Operations Directorate. The SME will be expected to work independently to deliver the following: · Implement solutions using Microsoft Power BI tool suite and related technologies · Expected to work one-on-one with Operations Directorate Leadership and staff to develop comprehensive documentation of the actual BI Solution requirements, deliverables and end-state objectives · Primary experience with Microsoft SQL Server features under the Microsoft Business Intelligence platform to include Analysis Services, Integration Services, Master Data Services, Reporting Services, and several client applications used for creating or working with analytical data · Lead the development of operational dashboards, periodic business reviews, and effective metrics · Analyze complex business problems and issues using data to provide insight to decision makers · Leverage internal and external database systems · Develop complex interfaces with 3rd party application databases (data sources) for the purpose of data mining and extraction into target BI solution · Develop high performing, reliable, and scalable solutions · Clearly communicate technical details to business and management staff · Perform data analysis which supports and enhances the client’s information management systems and services · Perform data cleaning on internal SQL database systems to fix or remove incorrect, incomplete, duplicate, corrupt, incorrectly structed, or otherwise erroneous data sets · Provide design documents for approved projects · Develop reports, dashboards & scorecards, data exploration, and visual analytics using existing and emerging technologies and tools · Provide meaningful feedback and coaching of other team members in the use of Microsoft Power BI and related technologies · Provide insight and recommendations on new and emerging technologies and concepts · Experienced with features of the Power BI Service and Power BI Premium including establishing gateway refresh schedules and row level security · Experienced with other Power Platform tools including Power Apps, Power Automate, Dataverse, etc. and integrating them with Power BI solutions · Contractor shall create datasets and data flows for self-service reporting · Contractor shall be capable of maintaining, updating, and performance tuning existing BI reports · Possessing the ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment · Creating deliverable reports that may be based on custom requirements that are delivered with minimal notice · Contractor shall communicate with non-technical users to understand business requirements for reports Specific Requirements The successful candidate will possess: · 5 years of experience with data visualization and reporting tools · 2 years of experience with Microsoft Power BI · Full understanding of SQL and relational database reporting architectures · 5+ years of progressive experience in business intelligence and/or information management · 2+ years of experience with data visualization and implementing high-value solutions; experience performing administrative activities across multi-environment infrastructures · 2+ years of experience working in a client-facing technical role · 5+ years of experience in SQL database management and administration Required Minimum Skill Sets/Expertise · Proficient in the use of Data Analytics Expressions (DAX) and Power Query · Experience with one or more data technologies (e.g., Oracle, SQL Data Warehouse, SQL Server, etc.) and a willingness to learn how to leverage these technologies to improve business intelligence · Proficiency in one or more of the following languages: SQL, SAS, R, or Python · Expert knowledge of data management, business intelligence and analytics concepts including: o Extract, transform, load (ETL) o Data warehousing, data marts, data stores, and cubes o Data quality and profiling o Data governance, data management, and metadata management o Data visualization, dashboard design / implementation, reporting, self-service BI, data KPIs, and scorecards o Predictive, prescriptive, and descriptive analytics o Data cleaning Customer-service skills. · Computer support specialists must be patient and sympathetic. They must often help people who are frustrated with the software or hardware they are trying to use. · Support workers must be able to understand the problems that their customers are describing and know when to ask questions to clarify the situation. · Support workers must identify both simple and complex computer problems, analyze them, and solve them. · Support workers must describe the solutions to computer problems in a way that a nontechnical person can understand. · Strong writing skills are useful for preparing instructions and email responses for employees and customers, as well as real-time web chat interactions. · Demonstrated ability to listen to Functional end-user requirements and capture detailed narratives in complex multi-phase project plans with measurable outcomes delivered by Government approved milestone dates. Additional Information • The selected contractor must be able to respond to client inquiries, support tickets, and emergency issues within two business hours.
