14+ Years Experience needed Position: Lead Java & Azure Cloud Architect Location: Waltham, MA Role Overview: We are seeking a skilled and experienced Lead Java and Azure Cloud Architect to design, develop, and deploy scalable Java-based applications on the Microsoft Azure platform. This role demands strong technical leadership to drive high-quality engineering practices, ensure compliance with architectural standards, and deliver robust, secure, and efficient cloud-native solutions. You will play a key role in solution architecture, integration of Azure services, and performance optimization. Key Responsibilities: • Design and architect scalable, secure, and cost-efficient cloud solutions utilizing Azure services. • Provide hands-on leadership and mentorship to development teams throughout the software lifecycle. • Integrate a range of Azure services such as Azure Functions, App Services, Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), Azure SQL Database, and Azure Storage. • Build and deploy enterprise-grade Java applications using frameworks like Spring Boot and Hibernate on the Azure platform. • Ensure high availability, scalability, and optimal performance of mission-critical applications. • Implement CI/CD pipelines and DevOps automation using tools such as Azure DevOps, Jenkins, and Terraform. • Enforce security, compliance, and governance policies across cloud environments. • Conduct code reviews to uphold best practices and maintain code quality. Essential Skills: • Strong experience in Java development, including expertise in Spring Boot and Hibernate. • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Azure services, especially App Services, Azure SQL Database, Azure Storage, Azure Functions, and AKS. • Solid experience with Microservices architecture, Docker, and Kubernetes. • Hands-on expertise with DevOps tools such as Azure DevOps, Jenkins, and Terraform. • Proficient in designing and consuming RESTful APIs. • Strong leadership, problem-solving, and team collaboration capabilities. • Familiarity with Agile development methodologies. Preferred Skills: • Experience with additional Azure compute or data services. • Knowledge of advanced containerization and orchestration techniques. • Understanding of advanced cloud security concepts and best practices. • Relevant certifications in Azure or Java technologies.
