This position resides within IT Operations and reports to the IT Operations Manager, who reports to the CIO of the Information Technology Services Division (ITSD). Development Operations (DevOps) is an emerging discipline at WSLCB. This position will bring strong DevOps experience to implement, train, and reinforce team understanding and participation. Cloud‑first development mindset, cost optimization, and automation‑first thinking are primary focuses of this role. This position provides leadership, strategic direction, and mentorship to all Tier 2 and Tier 3 software support personnel (not dedicated to the Salesforce environment). The supervisor will ensure staff work on the agency’s highest priorities to analyze, communicate, design, document, develop, deploy, enhance, maintain and configure applications and inter‑system/inter‑agency interactions. The supervisor must ensure collaboration with business and technical staff to address challenges with innovative, holistic solutions. Development of processes and automation architecture and documentation of standards should be a natural byproduct of providing expert level technical services and oversight. The role works with highly visible systems with agency‑wide, statewide, and multi‑agency impact, providing integration solutions for internal and cross‑enterprise systems. This position provides leadership to DevOps efforts for custom, COTS and SaaS integrations, data conversions, system upgrades, and enhancements; development and maintenance of deployment standards and pipelines; strategic direction and solution roadmaps; mentorship to design, build, and maintain secure solutions. It plans and defines current and future enterprise architecture and automated solutions, manages system upgrades, and ensures systems operate optimally. Required Qualifications: Option 1: Seven (7) years of recent professional experience in computer application development and infrastructure management, including at least one (1) year of leading or supervising IT professionals. The experience should include: • Extensive CI/CD experience • Hands‑on experience with AWS and Microsoft Azure • Knowledge of SDLC and Agile development • Knowledge of DevOps tools in Microsoft environment (GIT, ADO, Azure, AWS, TestComplete, .NET) • Understanding of enterprise GIT repositories (branching/forking) • Scripting skills (REST, shell, PowerShell, Python, JavaScript, .NET) • Infrastructure as Code (IaC) experience • Container technologies (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes) • Automation of repetitive tasks using Python/PowerShell • Monitoring/logging tools (Azure Monitor, CloudWatch) • Security across SDLC (DevSecOps) • Managing complex infrastructure and automation projects • Change management and continuous improvement culture Option 2: An Associate's degree in Computer Science, IT or closely related field; OR completion of a two‑year accredited IT program; plus five (5) years of recent professional experience as listed above, including at least one (1) year of supervising IT professionals. Option 3: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or closely related field; plus three (3) years of recent professional experience as listed above, including at least one (1) year of supervising IT professionals.
