Enterprise Data Architect The Enterprise Data Architect will drive the overall vision, strategy, and technical design of the organization’s Snowflake platform and enterprise reporting ecosystem. This role ensures that the data environment is scalable, secure, cost-efficient, and adaptable to changing business priorities. The architect will shape and refine data models that support a wide variety of needs, from day-to-day operational reporting to business intelligence and advanced analytics. In this position, you’ll play a leadership role in consolidating multiple data sources into a unified Snowflake environment while guiding the development of a cohesive enterprise data warehouse. Success requires close collaboration with data scientists, warehouse engineers, analysts, and IT leaders to deliver trusted, high-quality, and well-governed access to business-critical information. Key Responsibilities: • Build and maintain a multi-year data architecture roadmap aligned with both business objectives and evolving technology trends. • Design strategies for data movement, integration, replication, and decommissioning of legacy systems. • Define and oversee backup, archival, and disaster recovery policies for the Snowflake environment and supporting data warehouse. • Provide hands-on technical guidance and architectural leadership across Snowflake, data warehousing, and BI initiatives. • Ensure security, performance, reliability, and data quality across the enterprise platform. • Develop and enforce standards for integration, replication, and governed access to information. • Optimize workload performance and cost management within Snowflake, including resource allocation. • Establish practices for metadata, data cataloging, and lineage tracking. • Lead architectural reviews and influence solution design across analytics teams. • Partner with senior leaders across business and IT to align data strategies with enterprise goals. • Support problem-solving and technical communication between architecture, engineering, and business stakeholders. • Serve as a primary point of contact for enterprise data architecture matters. Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related discipline. • 10+ years of experience in data architecture or related fields, with at least 5 years in a senior or leadership role on large-scale projects. • Deep expertise in Snowflake architecture, including deployment and ongoing operations. • Strong background with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or equivalent), emphasizing scalable and secure design. • Proficiency in ETL/ELT tools (e.g., dbt, Fivetran, Informatica) and real-time data integration. • Knowledge of security and compliance standards (e.g., GDPR, SOC 2) and how to apply them in practice. • Experience with BI tools such as Tableau or Power BI and their integration with enterprise systems. • Ability to translate complex business needs into data solutions and architectural strategies. • Demonstrated leadership in technical initiatives, architecture influence, and stakeholder communication. • Comfortable as a senior individual contributor with a mentoring mindset. • Familiarity with agile practices and working in cross-functional environments.
